Apologies if this is a pearoast, I'm sure it's been posted twelfty million times before, but any recommendations for a helmet mounted camera (fnarr fnarr)? Tried searching on here but the search thang seems to be broken
Aware of GoPro and the like, but just wondered if, from experience, you chaps and chapesses could recommend any particular brands etc?
Cheers

try midland xtc100, xtc200 and xtc300, last is a little pricy, but the first one is a great helmet cam.

Why do people put cameras on their bike??
Maybe makes sense if you're filming a mate on a track day or ride out otherwise it confuses me.
If you're commuting it makes sense in case someone knocks you off and denies it etc, you might be doing a long trip to somewhere new that you want to keep a record of, and most importantly you might enjoy talking about unfortunate urination accidents while riding and wish to share it with the world.Maybe makes sense if you're filming a mate on a track day or ride out otherwise it confuses me.
what does it matter really?

Ah yes, good old Baron Von Grumble what does it matter really?
For me, it's for impending track days with my pals

well I have used dgocams bullet cam
...as have I. Image quality seems to be losing ground against the new upstarts but you can't beat a bullet cam for compactness and ease of mounting (I use central heating pipe clips ).Once drawback could be said to be the separate recorder and associated wiring, however.

I got one so that when I go on holiday I don't ust end up with a load of photos of me and my mates eating cake, I've actually got some video of the reason I went on holiday, ie to ride decent roads. eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1Z9WlzVLdgMaybe makes sense if you're filming a mate on a track day or ride out otherwise it confuses me.
I've been very happy with my GoPro (the original HD), but the quality from a mates HD2 looks even better. The main thing that let the Gopro down compared to some of its more expensive rivals was the lack of remote control, meaning I had to stop to turn it on and off, the new wifi backpack solves that but it is an extra £95
Mounting is easy, I use the sucker mount that comes with the Motorsport version on the side faring of my bike. I've also stuck one of the mounting shoes on the top of my helmet and one on the back of a pannier and it just clips in to them.

I'm a 'puter numpty so I think there's some stuff I need to do with screen size and downloading it in HD.

I'll have to find somewhere to slap it on the bike then, will find out about any restrictions when I book up. Cheers for the heads up.
