I remember seeing you at a couple of NE PH meets Still have the silver 390SE I bought in 2000 though my Esprit went in 2006 (and last time I saw it was worth three times what I sold it for ).
Yep, I remember meeting you Ian. I have a photo of one of the meets somewhere. I'm sure Stefan had a video too. The S3 went, but the Griff I switched to is still in the garage. I got very close to buying an Wedge FHC for £1500, whish I had now!!
2002 Jesus that has flown buy, grass mowing/ paying bills (worrying about paying bills) / working and generally drinking beer ( in-between worrying about every lump and bump that has since decided to pop out of my body over the years :-( ) has seen me go from 33 to 47. I had this on the drive in 2003. 5ltr full fat 1999 car, purchased for £16000 back then and piled a load of miles on the thing, sold it in 2009 for £8500 :-( and probably worth 20k now if my other old sold cars are anything to go buy
Have a TVR Sagaris and a couple of Ducatis. Performance wise the Ducati's will eat the Sagaris but the Sagaris definitely gets the most attention. The power and torque a big modern v-twin generates is mind blowing and can't really be put into words to those who haven't been on one or something similar. Best i can describe it is at full chat its like the bike is trying to rip your arms from your body and you are holding on for dear life. You don't get that in any car!
As for why i love both bikes and TVR's. They are the toys i wanted as a kid and great fun to drive. Both the bikes and the TVR make you feel like you are a part of the machine and not simply a passenger. All are completely and utterly useless in the wet though. In fact the only useful form of transport i have in the wet is an Oyster card...

Always like quite raw cars - Cosworths, Elises, TVRs.
Had 2 TVRs about 7-10 years ago. A 98 Chimaera 400, which was lovely but disappointingly slow and a then a low mileage 98 Chimaera 450 which was ace. Niggles with both, but loved them.
I think the combination of power, performance and value means they appeal to bikers too.

1988 had just sold the FZR1000 and was looking at the Bimota YB6 and one afternoon at lydden I saw a TVR and thought thats it! I was suprised to discover the price was just about the same so I bought a TVR S (still have it) but recently there have been itches about a 4 cyl 2 stroke that will need addressing.
