Brilliant spec but f*cking hideous! Why does the blue not go to the edge of the fairing on the side, and why is there a random blue bit between the lights?

Looks like a tart's handbag to me - a tart who rides a late 90s "Gixxer"!

Would love one for TD's and extralegal blasts though: would own all comers and nothing four-wheeled short of a Veyron, or Caparo T1 could get close

Edit: for £20k-ish you think they could tweak the dash to Panigale-standards rather than sticking with the same dash tech we've had since the late 90s.

Just found that pic and it looks bada$S, an absolute weapon, small ugly swathes of blue notwithstanding. Its like a big bloke who wears bright bright pink shoes. Looks $hit yes, and a bit fairylike, but is anyone gonna tell him that to his face?

Can't wait for the inevitable test b/w it and the Panigale Tricolore, though if current mag tests are anything to go by the S1000RR would easily have the measure of the Ducati

I think this is a foregone conclusion. Even the current S1000RR seems to be a more impressive bike than the Panigale, let alone the HP4.

I do of course have some questions - all superbikes are now incredibly quick and making them easier to ride perhaps tempts the rider to go even quicker? Do we just have higher speed accidents as happened with cars rather than greater safety?

I have no answer to that!

Perhaps in the 80s compared with the 60s or even 70s, and to a lesser extent the 90s compared with the 80s but not now compared with any time in the last 20 yrs. Bikes aren't *that* much quicker than they were 20 odd years ago: the 1990 Kawasaki ZZR1100 did the 1/4 mile in about 10 seconds and so does the modern superbike. So that covers speeds up to about 140mph, and considering that most bikes are ltd to 186 and so few crashes anywhere happen b/w 140-186, I dont think its made much of a difference personally.

This will clearly go faster round a track than anything from the 80's.

Who cares soley about straight line speed??

Thank God BMW finally sorted this bike out. The old bike was crappy and slow.

Suggestions on Visordown earlier in the week that the price would be around £17k, still looks like quite good value up against the Panigale S.

I'm in for the Euromillions draw anyway, so I'll get both.

Finally, a bike that's almost up to my riding ability.
