The last set did just over 8,000 miles ... But they were pretty knackered! smile

Ran them through winter towards end of life and they were fine. New set in Spring...

These will be doing another track day in 4weeks then will probably need to change them.

Metzler M7RR next

I've been very impressed with the 2 sets of metzeler Z8's I've had. Similar mileage but the profile is much better than the Michelins IMO. Always felt like you get so far over with the Michelins then have to really force it over. The metzelers just drop right over no problem.

Yep, out of BT023's, PR2's, PR3's, roadsmarts and Z8's I much prefer the Z8's.

Funny you say that about the profile, they are quite neutral. I'd noticed it but not thought too much of it. That's probably why they feel very stable at the cost of some agility? Dunno. They're much better than me anyway!!

how much tread do these start with according to my awesome maxxis tyre depth card it says 3mm

just had a look on line, it says 5.75 mm depth in centre and 4.6 mm on the sides

surely I cant have used 2.75mm of tread in two and a half track days and a few hundred miles....

that or the maxxis card is a load of ste.

Where did you order that from owd lad ?
Jock sturgursons garage in Doncaster, need to order as they don't stock. £144 ride in for a 190/50 17 seems ok to me.

Well I've got some. Had a short test ride just to make sure everything is ok. The tyres have made a big difference to how the bike handles, it's much slower to turn now. Can't wait to get them scrubbed in.

Which? PR3 or PP3? - what did you have before on the bike for comparison?

DunlopGP212 on my trackbike. I'm getting just over two days out of a set now.

Better still just picked up 5 sets of new 211s for £600. Now that's good value.

What do we reckon of this on my rear tyre? Still useable or do I need to get a new one?

It's got plenty of tread but the cut in the middle is concerning me frown
