Really?
Someone sympathises with a bloke that in all likelihood is going to get murdered in a desert thousands of miles from home by some fking loons, and the default response is "You must be a spy!"?
Do you also tell rape victims that they were asking for it for wearing anything less than a full ball gown on a night out?
Maybe he did make a dumb decision, but what happened to the punishment fits the crime? The crime being - travelled legally to a place that wasn't too safe to thank people that helped him.

A spy? Where the fk did you get that from? What a stupid comment you sensationalist fool. Someone sympathises with a bloke that in all likelihood is going to get murdered in a desert thousands of miles from home by some fking loons, and the default response is "You must be a spy!"?

In my very humble opinion, ladies wearing ball gowns at a Ball, tend to be naughty little minxes, so I'm not sure that phrase works that well. Agree with the sentiment though... Nords said:

John is in a dark place and it would do us well to remember this and pray for him.
Sadly I think it's that kind of business that has got him into this predicament in the first place. If people weren't beheading others over their beliefs in different magic sky pixies then the world would be a much better place.
But yeah, hope he's home safely soon, but I don't hold out a great deal of hope for that. Somebody's 'God' or their interpretation thereof will probably determine a sadder fate.
Worryingly there hasn't been anything for a long time. I think if they had killed him they would have made a song and dance over it though.
I sincerely hope he gets out alive, gets to come home and lives out his days without feeling the need to go back to an area where he's been captured (twice!)

Wow he's back in the ISIS mag again so looks like he might still be alive.......
