How come there's nothing on the news about this guy currently ?
Do you think the media should play the enemy's propaganda films?
Do you think they should play miranda on the tele. I'd say it's much worse.

As long as Johns making these documentaries personally I'm hoping there's a chance a rescue operation can be executed. I'm just concerned that he stated at the begin of this one that it's the last of the series. Assuming he's being held in Raqqa I can't see how he could possibly escape motorcycle or not.

Based on recent revelations, he's probably been dead for months - though I haven't seen any of his reports so don't know how recent they are.
Let's just say that ISIS clearly aren't using their hostages as a bargaining tool, the best that can be said is once they're all dead, the white man should stay the hell out of the place until the fundies have finished killing each other.

His documentaries always mention recent events. The last one about Charlie Hebdo, so I belie he's still alive.

ISIS will make sure the bikes he can access only have a few litres of petrol in them = he'll get about 5 miles and the bike will stop.

plus you'd better believe there are 10 guys watching him 24/7 with orders to kill if he even looks like legging it.

Yeah I'm fearing that the situation is getting very precarious right now.

Why can't they just show some mercy and let him go??

Because he'll tell everyone that his 'reports' were all made under duress.

We became immune to the beheadings so they had to take it up a notch. Burn a man alive, that out to do it. Evil and shocking but we didn't really know the victims or much about them. They've allowed us to get to know John so that when they do what they are going to do it will provoke the ultimate reaction.

Just a theory but sadly in my option, a dead man walking.

My only hope is that they aren't going to find another western reporter like him to make their propaganda vids.
Surely he's more valuable to them alive? His videos are good and paint a very nice picture for ISIL.

But then they are deranged animals, so who know what will happen.
Horrible...just horrible.

Surely they could just release him but say to him if you speak out against us and our propaganda when you return to the UK we will murder all remaining hostages? I fear for this guy as the Jordanian pilot was featured in their diabolical magazine shortly before his murder.

Incidentally has anyone here met John? I'm wondering if he really composes what he says and writes and if he comes across as believing it.

Keep praying for John.

This is where I come across as a bigger tosser than normal, but it'll be the blunt truth. He's a dead man walking. He has been since he made the rather stupid decision to go back to a war zone to do whatever he was doing. There's a reason that the Foreign Office have lists about where not to travel to.

ISIS are an impossible group to defeat as they don't have a country, don't have borders, don't have a governmental style leadership and are basically a bunch of thugs who are either not scared to die, or too naive to believe they will end up dead. Look at all the other Middle Eastern nutter terrorist groups, not one of them has been defeated and not one ever will be.

I don't think things were quite as deadly then (when he went out there) as they are now.

He went, got captured, escaped, came back to Britain, and then went back and got captured again. I'd call that pretty dangerous amd stupid.

I do have some compassion for this, whilst it may seem stupid to you or I. He is there documenting the current affairs and giving an unbiased view into it. If it wasn't for so many brave journalists (and im not talking about the low life ones) many monstrosities would have went unknown to the world.

Unbiased? He's not wandering around sampling the local cuisine, he's a hostage and producing proISIS tourist videos. If it was independent he'd probably have legged it by now, instead he's got to say a load of crap while Abdul ISIS rides pillion toting an AK47.

He was unbiased until he was captured.

I'd like to see how you would respond with a glock pointed to your head.

I'm sure you would put them in their place loon, I can imagine it. "don't be so fking stupid the dvla hasn't fked up your licence your just a fascist with a grievance with the west, of Wales. You're making it up".....bang

The bloke is doing what any sane person would do. Whatever it takes to stay alive in the hope that one day he will be free and able to return to his loved ones.
