John Urry must have the easiest job on PH.
Quite a few of his articles appear after that topic has been discussed to death in Biker Banter, this one being a case in point but also quite common with MotoGP topics I've noticed.
If I were in the slightest bit cynical I'd be imagining that he spends his time reading BB and uses theads in that forum as a basis for his articles...
Whats wrong with that? He is bringing topics discussed in Bikerbanter to a wider audience. I myself dont really frequent BB, but do check the main stories. Granted he could probably mention some credit to BB or whoever started a topic. Anyway, Would like to see this new bike. As someone mentioned, Honda have been a bit not really done any major updates for a while. A new paint scheme although a welcome edition, should not be the hightlight of an updated model.
Looking forward to seeing how this turns out, if at all.

It would be a Motogp rep if it was a V5.
If it is like the VFR1200, the RC45 or the NR 750 then forget it.
If it is like the RC30 or the SP2, it might just be good. however isn't this all a bit late.
Ducati did it in 2003. Now they look like they are just trying to piss them off.
And what about a new Fireblade or will that fizzle up again?
What is the difference between the RC30, RC45 and RC51? I am not sure why you are making a distinction between them. They all raced at the highest levels and won world championships. Fair enough the RC45 wasn't as successful, but it was still a hell of a bike.If it is like the VFR1200, the RC45 or the NR 750 then forget it.

V5 hasn't been raced by Honda in MotoGP since 2006. Technically if they were to release a V5 it would be a very out of date MotoGP rep.

I'm with you re the NR750, although as a showcase for (then) state of the art manufacturing it was quite something. The VFR1200 I cant comment as not ridden one.If it is like the VFR1200, the RC45 or the NR 750 then forget it.

As for RC30 and RC45, I have owned both in standard spec; the RC30 was sublime, the only thing that dated it were the brakes; the RC45 should of been better, but it was fatter and heavier, and had fallen victim to tighter noise regs, so couldnt match the 30 for sound! Both were fabulous involving road bikes; especially somwhere flowing like the TT. I would have another RC30, but not an RC45; although a RC45 was a better bike than an SP1 or SP2! As you say, a bit late; Ducati understood the top end replica market better than anyone!

Given the RCV213V 2012 1000cc MotoGP bike is a V4, it's pointless building a V5, especially as given the current GP rule book it won't return either, then there's the link to the RC V4's of the past..
As for those talking fireblades.. CBR = Cross Beam Racing
VFR= Vee Four Racing and RC= Racing Class
So it's safe to assume the blade will remain unless we get a shock announcement about a VFR1000RR otherwise expect a VFR1000-RC213 in 2014
