Discussion
ALDI has it’s battery chargers on offer again from Thursday the 4th.

Link may or may not work.
I’m fairly sure there was some all-round good comments about these last time, so if anyone missed it, at £13.99 they are worth a look.
Torque wrench for £15.99 there as well.

As an Oxford Oximiser conditioner is only £5.90 more, I can't see the point in risking an Aldi special.
There is no "risk", all of Aldi's products are excellent quality. Why pay nearly 50% more? Plus they always have a no quibble return and replace/refund policy.I think there still seems to be a bit of a miss conception that Aldi is full of cheap tat. If anyone has ever been in they will find its actually bloody expensive for some stuff and the quality is pretty good.

When Aldi opened near us in Suffolk you could see by the expensive cars that smart money used Aldi, as much as the value for money folks.
Always surprised me that there was so much prejudice - obviously coming from those that didn't shop there
I have to admit that Aldi and Lidl suck the bloody life and sole out of me however, theres only one person on the tills, it looks like it needs a good clean, ive never seen so many cardboard boxes on show and I refuse to pay for a bag.
Put Im going to get one of these, has to be better than my solar power one

My point is that Oxford produce these by the bucketload and have a reputation to uphold. Aldi will involve some bulk buying supermarket exec who's seen them cheap at a China trade show.
I'm sure they are safe - my 'risk' comment is in it's ability to keep the battery conditioned as well as an Oximer and its longevity. I have about 4 conditioners now on the bikes and the oximiser was the first I bought probably 10+ years ago and still going strong.

Anyway - I have no axe to grind, just that for within £6 of a known quality brand - I wouldn't bother. It might be marvellous. It might not. Good luck to those that buy them.

The Aldi chargers also come with a 3 year guarantee.
Which is useful when your £70 battery dies early.Just noticed it also doesn't come with a permanent connection with Tamiya adaptor, so by the time you buy one of those seperately, you've paid more than you would for an Oximiser.

Do oxford have a reputation for quality? Admittedly, they produce/sell a huge range of items, probably buying most of it from China, like everyone else. I suspect, they do very well out requiring exclusivity of supply to traders, which is why they seem to be the only option, in many shops, for anything other than clothing and helmets.
Speaking from personal and family experience of the Oximiser, it's been great. The Optimates are clearly better (I have a couple of 4s), but they are a different price point.Batteries seem to last forever on these conditioners.
