How do you mean?

He's entering as a newcomer, so that means he has done zero race/hot laps, no?

That is the point. They say you have to do a lot of laps before you know the course and can be up there with the top riders.

This year he was quite quick in places though while doing the parade lap.

Actually, having now thought about it, I reckon it could actually suit his style. There is something about his approach that perhaps could see him as the shock of TT2013. He’s a tenacious fecker. You only have to look at some of the moves he’s made over the last few seasons to realise that. He’s fast and committed. I just wonder if he has that pinpoint accuracy that the likes of Mcguinness has??

He’ll need to sort his fecking hair out though. The natives will think he’s a she
Aye he would have felt the birch for that hairdo not too long ago

I agree with you in the main, but didn't Plater do something special on his debut? Part of me remembers him getting podium or something similar.

Sure Plater is still the fastest newcomer ever.

He won a supersport race in his 2nd year iirc

Scary thoughts. Im really impressed with him this year, I think he is learning well, and deffo has the drive and desire to win.

Im also in the camp that thinks it cannot end well, but Im not afraid to say I dont support the TT these days.

A couple I'm thinking of didn't end well for other riders.
I've just been reading about Steve Henshaw in Classic Racer, he went the same race as Phil Mellor.

They were killed in the 1300 production race at the time production meant exactly that
at the TT.The top riders were on GSXR1100K's or EXUP's and after 2 laps of a four lap race
the standard suspension was overheating and damping non existent.
It was an accident waiting to happen tbh

Ironically Jamie Whitham crashed, Henshaw and another rider Mike Seward crashed avoiding
the still sliding Whitham and bike.Seward suffered life changing injuries
Whitham walked away such is fate

So Guy Martin and Josh Brookes

That will be interesting

Wasnt it last season when he got tangled up with Rutter at Cadwell?

I have no idea.

It will be good to see how he does though.

I think a healthy respect for the place is a good thing on the Island, not sure if Brookes is made that way. I remember Hodgeson saying he just wasn't brave enough to push it there, I thought that was big of him to admit it.

He was pretty wild in his first year in BSB but, having followed said series rather closely over those years, he's really matured this year. I think this is the exact right time for him to be doing it, and he won't find a better team than TAS.

He has been on about it for a couple of years, but thought he was told he can only do it if he wins the BSB Title........
