So Hopper has announced he is not competing in 2013 to fully recover from his injuries...

I don't expect to see him back, he should have learnt his lesson when his ex (and current, again) misses screwed with his head, low and behold he gets back with her and he is a pile of steaming dog turd this year.

A fully fit & focused Hopper would demolish the over rated self publicist that is camier.

Shame for hopper, but it's all self induced!

Not a Camier fan then?

Hopper is a great talent but reminds me of many a sportsman that doesn't fully achieve what their talent deserves, and I say that as one of his fans.

I like Hopper but he's been on the back foot since his ill fated wildcard appearance in the Czech GP. He obviously doesn't bounce as well as he once did. A talented rider without doubt, but not really an ideal season for him, when you consider he's comes into the season carrying an injury, then further injures himself. He's got to learn most of the circuits he's racing at and he has to try and be competitive on an under powered bike.

As for Camier, I can not fault him and believe that had he performed as poorly as Hopper this year Crescent would probably be returning to BSB with tails between their legs.

As it is though, they can go into next season with a bit of confidence and realistic expectation of more podiums and possibly a race win.

@JHopper21: The decision to take a year off to have a hip replacement etc was not an easy 1 but had to be done with my Hip becoming so severely damaged

Sounds like a pretty valid reason for taking the time out to heal, more so than the tosh N.S spouted about his relationship woes, id imagine there is a forum for "Hello" magazine readers N.S, go post that sort of "insider" relationship bks over there...

Sad for Hopper, he's always been chasing an injury of one fomr or another. Id be very surprised if he managed another comeback after a year out tbh.

Poor lad is in a messfrown..... I was shocked at Oulton last year at just how badly he walks.... I'm bad on my pins, and have had major surgery including a knee replacement, and he walks worse than mefrown....

He was obviously in some discomfort even back then, but took time to have his pic taken with my mates little lad, and answer a few questions.....he's never really recovered from that massive off at Assen....

I wish him all the best...

As Ox Mutley formerly of PB once wrote about Mick Doohans' injuries...

'I'd be happy to get out of bed with those scars never mind win five GP Titles!'

Get well soon Hoppy, it scares me to think i'm not that far behind you with the dodgy hip frown

Do you mean the over rated self publicist who annihilated the opposition that badly in the 2009 BSB championship they had to change the rules?

Can any biker be a 'over rated self publicist'?
Ask 99% of the population of any town to name a rider and they may say rossi, most will know of jenson button or lewis hamilton though.

I hope hoppers surgery goes well and thank him for making bsb 2011 bloody brilliant.

I dont think Leon Camier has been particularly over-rated or self publicised. He hasn't had the best package to compete on but has still had some decent results.

Yep, +1. I'd like to see the op get on a bike after his off at assen. I was at the fence on the bottom right hander where he came off, it was a big big off!!!!!

And like most of the riders..... He's a great blokeyes

Again he made my mates little lads day, had his pic taken, sat him on his bike autographs etc etc....

In fact, I once saw him in the paddock surrounded by kids, and fans...... And he was there for ages making sure every single one, got an autograph, photo, etc......

Watch Camiers crash at Cadwell, I've seen it a few times and it still makes me cringe

JH certainly has a big fan base but I never quite "got" him myself. Entertaining to watch at times but an on/off rider in terms of consistency & results & that is evidenced sadly by his crashes that have led to most of his problems (& considerable injuries-hip replacement ? wow!)

Unfortunately the sport is littered with riders-I could name a few but won't- who attracted big fan bases but never achieved major titles or maximum potential.
Hopper's last year in BSB will definitely go down as his best racing. Who can forget that last race at Brands?
