I'm not going to be able to watch the last BSB race, can someone please update this thread with any major news such as crashes etc - don't want to miss it and that's as good as I'll be able to get!!

Shakey took the win after following Brookes for half the race. A proper champion's way to finish the season.

Lowes clipped a curb and took himself and Laverty out.

I know the thread is BSB..... But I have to give a shout out to Joe Francis in the 125's..... Started 3rd and finished 3rd but had to put up a fight towards the end....

And in his first season (he's only 14) he's finished 2nd overall in his championship.....smilesmile...

yep, this.

Feel for both Glen AND Jack tbh, not the way it should happen, but thats racing.

Fabulous afternoons sport - really showed MGP as the total snoozefest is become.

Really enjoyed this years BSB,regardless of the showdon thing.

Theres a few riders come of age this year, for sure.

Huge congrats to Shakey and Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki.

The first Kwacker superbike championship for 20 years. Tom Sykes was 1 point away from making it two.

As a long standing Kawasaki fan I'm delighted.

Having ridden the latest ZX10R road bike I know what a superb starting point it is. It was mind-blowing!

Seems it can win with and without the electronics, which shows how good the fundamental are.

But for trackday riders, think on this, at Brands a month ago nearly everyone who came off did so at Clearways, too much throttle too soon. With traction control there might well have been no offs. I counted 5 for the day. The latest TC systems are not billy proof but they are brilliant.

To quote Tom Sykes: 'Electronics don't make the riders faster but they make the racing safer.'

Think on this...too much throttle too soon clearly rings as too much bravado and too little thought/experience/talent

While traction control 'might' make it safer, thinking you can hide poor riding behind electronics will always end up hurting

Yoda.

that's my point the ZX10 is a winner both with and without electronics.

plenty of experienced and pro riders lose it at clearways too by the way.

To back up Tom Sykes's point, WSB use sophisticated electronics compared to the stock system, BSB uses none yet is only about a second slower round Brands GP. Superstock 1000 uses the streetbike TC and is around 3 secs slower than the BSB bike.

Epic racing. The whole BSB franchise must be certainly turning heads in GP & SBK quarters. Brilliant end to a great season for all classes. Congrats to Shakey and Glen to keep those old men happy wink

Keith Farmer the next big thing?

I hope Virgin take on Eurosport 2 HD next year as it was much much better watching in High Def this weekend. Much more professional.

Did they show the full Superbike podium session on the telly? Hilarious! Tommy Hill came out first and lobbed his boots and knee sliders into the crowd. Then Josh Brookes came out and did the same, although he didn't stop there, getting out of his leathers and chucking them to the crowd too. Stood on the podium in only his cacks!

Really impressed with Hill's & Brookes' attitude, even though they must have been disappointed to lose out on the title.

Shakey was immense all weekend. Really took guts to grab the lead from Brookes in race 3 when he didn't need to. MotoGP (on Bird's CRT) next year?

He mentioned he had 2 offers to consider although didn't state what they were. My guess, like yours, is Birds CRT or another season in BSB

I suppose it all depends on what Shakey wants at this point in his career......hanging about the arse end of the MotoGP race, or being at the pointy end in the home series

Quite why you would want to go and run around the arse end of a series thats in trouble is beyond me, I dont see what Birdy sees in it.

A concerted WSB effort would make far more sense surely ?

Really hope Shakey doesnt go MGP.

He actually said as much on circuit commentary this morning. .... Something along the lines "I'm not sure I'd be happy wobbling around at the back of a Moto GP race, when I can be racing for wins in BSB"....smile
