Guys, my Hood jeans came yesterday but I’m not entirely happy with them. I realise I have to make compromises for style/comfort and safety but I just don’t think I could get on with these… They’re very loose around the thighs and don’t seem to fit great – maybe I needed a size down but when I fitted the bulky hip and knee armour it did somewhat tighten up but didn’t feel great.

The problem is when it comes to riding I’m just going to grab my stretchy slim fit comfy fk jeans being brutally honest.

Has anyone found some dedicated jeans which are comfortable and provide decent levels of safety without looking like ill-fitting ASDA George £5 specials?

Even if they don’t have adequate padding I could always invest in some of those slip on knee armour.

Cheers for any input.

I have the BMW City Jeans and they are fantastic. Slim fitting and with proper protection and well laid out pockets / zips etc... the branding is very low key if you are not a BMW rider. They are not a budget option running at about £150 a pair but they certainly fit your requirements from what I read in your posting.

Next summer I'll be buying one of these http://www.motolegends.com/brands/furygan/furygan-...

My brother's got one and it's really comfy and comes with these new D3O 'hardening on impact gel' thingies that help a lot with comfort.

They look perfect tbh!! Do you know how furygan sizes run?

In most jeans I'm a 32" but in trousers I'm a 34".

I went for 34" on the Hoods but I could have done with 32's tbh.

Furygan trousers are on the small size, I was going to get a pair of leather trousers and tried on the 32"s which are my normal size and they were a bit tight, the 34"s fitted fine tho.

Try Red Route as an alternative, they dont look like cheap asda crap smile

I've got a red route and it fits like the OP describes his. Not impressed.

Cheers for the heads up I was about to buy a pair as thought they looked quite good, will keep looking.

For through the week/commute and in the office i wear RST Kevlar ones.

Comfortable enough, fit nicely, not too loose, and tight enough to go under my textiles if it's chucking it down, and also go over my boots easily.

My local store has some Draggin’s so going to get down there soon. I tried on their oil skin or whatever they’re called and again not impressed with the fit. They have some camo ones which I will try on.

Maybe a problem I have is that I wear my jeans quite low as I prefer the comfort rather than having them around my waist like a mature adult. wink

(I don’t wear them under my backside mind you… that would be way too gangster).

Have you seen Draggin's K-legs things? They're kind of kevlar leggings which you can wear under your normal jeans so you can get some protection whilst wearing your more stylish high street offerings. In some ways they may be better than kevlar re-inforced jeans as they sit tighter to your skin and won't slip around, and I think you can also get them with knee pads too.

I suspect it is not possible to have kevlar jeans which are as comfortable as ordinary jeans. They will always be heavier and maybe have armour as well. Personally, I only wear kevlar jeans if I'm spending a relatively short amount of time walking around at my destination. If I'm going somewhere, spending 8 hours walking around then going home again, I would wear my kevlar overpants instead.

As a BTW I bought some fake BMW casual jeans last time I was in Shenzhen for about a fiver smile

Granted, it comes with the product and I'm sure we can all leave with a bit more weight and heat when going to the shops or for a coffee in town but I don't want to look like I've had an old age related incident everytime I come off the bike hehe

I'm sat here in the office with my Draggin kevlar jeans on. They're quite comfortable and look like normal jeans - I'm very happy with them. They have the furry type Kevlar lining rather than the hard, so I don't know how they'd hold up to sliding down the road - hopefully I'll never find out!

Get black jeans if you are worried about wee stains showing....

I'm wearing my red route jeans and they fit great, maybe its because I am more powerfully built around the thigh than most...

"Motorcycle jeans talk to me"?

Do they?

My bedside lamp talks to me and tells me to kill Russian hookers.

What do these jeans say to you?

How did you find the fit of them? True to casual jeans?
