RE: PH2 ridden: Zero DS
Discussion
If the maths is correct, I'd rather have my old (carb'd) 125 which did 100+mpg on average even when thrashed constantly...
I worked out it was about 6-7p a mile to run fuel wise I think... Know what I would rather commute on.
I don't see this as the future... electric vehicles are merely a fad. Something else will end up being the ultimate solution I believe (and it'll be the fuel companies that dream it up!)

ETA; I'd have thought a silent green laner would be ideal. Would stop lots of the moaning from walkers/horse riders.
Interestingly it is "Silent" Cyclists that make our horses jump as they don't hear them coming....esp from behind....all of a sudden a cyclist "appears" in view.motorbikes, lorries, 4x4s don't bother them at all as they can hear them coming.
Just need to understand how a horse works.

It's definitely cyclists that spook our horses more.
They couldn't give a st about cars/bikes/bombs. I could probably go around the field on my MX bike and they wouldn't bat an eyelid.

They should attach a wind turbine to it, so that some of the power loss with the drag gets reconverted back into power, same with the braking like they do on the KERS on F1 cars.
You could go even further and use thermal pads on the bars to turn heat into electricity.
Maybe some fold-out pedals like a moped that when stopped at lights or cruising (read:maxing it out) on the motorway so you can get some more kinetic energy into the battery from pedalling.
With all this you might be able to get an extra mile out of her.

I don't really understand why none of them have an alternator to feed back into the battery when the motor is at high enough rpm to drive it. Could have a alternator winding on a centrifugal clutch type set up to kick in only when at high enough rpm so it doesn't create too much of a parasitic loss at low rpm.

Looks great. There needs to be more electric vehicles on pistonheads.
You waited nearly 10 years, only to propagate electric vehicles?I feel violated somehow .
