NEC is the venu which holds motorcycle live. This is a big motorcycle show. Worth a visit if you want to pick yourself up a bargain minus cost of entrance and travel of course.
I'm yet to find a deal at the NEC which beats what you can easily find online or just plain, good, old-fashioned haggling with your local gear supplier.Rawwr said:

I find the deals at the NEC to be consistently better than price I have found online especially after a haggle. Also, I don't tend to buy lids and clothing online as I always end up with a poor fit. Shoei Neotec in Borealis purchased today, and I'm absolutely delighted with it. Tried it against the flip front offerings from all the big names and after lots of teeth sucking decided it was worth the wedge. Lovely plush linings, nice robust mechs, drop down sun visor is a joy, it just feels 'proper'.
Not sure on the colours at first, but I like a visible helmet, and the plain colours are a bit boring. Here's hoping the yellow keeps its colour! There is some lovely gold detailing in the yellow bits, its much nicer in the flesh!
As an aside, Triumph valued my bike p/x at £300, so my helmet is worth more than my bike!

Got this a couple of weeks ago for £180, with pinlock and slight smoke visor. Pretty chuffed with it. Light, quiet, very quiet with the vents closed, easy to use vent controls, and the smoked visor and pinlock is a revelation. I don't think the build quality is good enough for a £330 RRP, but it's pretty well made, and was a good buy for £180.
It just doesn't feel as good as my old AGV which was only £130, and had an RRP of just £230. The paint isn't quite as good either, you can see the outline around the clear-coated over decals, and the corner of the rear vent is missing a pin head of clear coat on the corner, meaning the paint has chipped back a little.
Having said this, the HJC interior is nicer than the AGV, the vent operation is far better thought out, and it's lighter, quieter and cooler.

Arrived today. Fits ok - was worried about that. Has a small dent at back near bottom. Gonna get a smile painted on it ; )

I don't want to piss on your parade (purely because I want a free holiday in Tenerife) but that looks like a broken lock stop, I might be wrong but that bar looks mighty close to the old tank.
Just checked and you're right. So apart from low speed maneuvering will it have much affect? How can fix, is it expensive?
Can't claim on insurance as only TPFT.

The frame is a write off in terms of insurance. You can buy a lock stop for £50 that will do the job of the one on the frame.
The bikes probably ok, they tend to snap off easy, ive ran one for 3,000 miles and 8 trackdays this year with a broken lock stop.

Does anyone own a Shark Race-R Pro Carbon helmet?
I like the look of the above two. I currently own an S900 that I find quite comfortable, wind noise can be quite loud at times but I've nothing to compare it to, being my first helmet.
Bought one today lad.... Super light weight , quality feel all round, very good removable washable padding, quick release visors and good venting with nose mist guard.....very happy indeed with it .see you next year!!I like the look of the above two.
