I have these two, though I have bought Xlite last may and never wore it, it was always "I will use it on a special occasion" and in the end always put GTAir on. paperbag

Early Christmas present from my wife and kids. Airoh Aviator 2.2 and GoPro Hero Session. Managed to get a GoPro frame from China so the camera can be mounted under the visor to stop it snagging on tree branches.

Carbon/Kevlar composite weighing in at 1000gr. The camera feels heavier than the helmet.
Amazing mx lid... All I wore in the last 4 years. Very light too but the peak is prone to breaking when you crash

Best offroad lids in my opinion, have had them for years

I really fancy one of those X Lites, what's the quality like?

I've got the X-Lite Danny Kent replica and compared to my previous Shoei NXR MM93 rep, it's light, quiet, comfortable and so far, seems very well put together - no mean feat, because the Shoei was pretty damn good...

Unfortunately I cannot tell you right now, I haven't tried it "in action".
I wanted to buy a light carbon fiber helmet, GTAir is a bit on the heavy side (has sunvisor) but AGV Project 46 2.0 was a bit too expensive for me.
I researched and tried a few and I really liked X-lite X802RR, it fits my head perfectly, looks great, seems to be very good quality. I also read all the comparison reviews I could find and 802RR always came in top 3, sometime winning (even in German mags, where they like Schubert SR2 more now).
I also liked the MotoGP theme on that helmet and the carbon fiber clearly visible through laquer.

Thanks. Is the XLite the same size as the Shoei? I'm tempted to buy an XLite by mail order to replace my ageing Arai and wondering whether the sizes are comparable (I also have a Shoei and I'm the same size in both Shoei and Arai)

I bought exactly the same size. XLite felt a bit tight putting on, but my GTAir is 3 years old and I ride a lot, maybe it was just as tight when new, I do not remember. ANyway, smaller size XLite I could not put on and bigger size was definitely too big. SO I got the same size and it is tight, but it does not squeeze painfully anywhere and feels very comfortable. This summer I will finally use it...on a special occasion. biggrin

Yep, I'd agree with the above... I had the same size X-Lite as I did the previous Shoei, it definitely feels tighter getting it on, but very comfortable once it is - I think it's probably part of the reason it's so quiet...

The Shark Spartan is available in a carbon version ; seems good quality for £350.

That's great, thanks. Does it have cutouts for glasses?

It's loud, draughty, the visor feels flimsy, and the pro shade system is a faff. Extremely comfy though and the fit is amazing.

Nearly went for the same but went with a GT-Air for the road instead, with a Sena intercom. Absolutley love it. Can't believe I've been messing about wasting time with Arai's for so long! Never again.
Shoei is quiet, comfy and the vents work a treat.
As for the visor change - get this - you can change it without the blooming side pods falling off or feeling like you're about to break something like the RX7!

Holy thread resurrection hehe

Just bought this on sale for 200£ new as replacement for my perfectly fine
but rather old Nolan N84. There was nothing wrong with it tbh,
but it has noticeable slack now and I fancy a change.

I have one of these HJC RPHA11, I looked at loads of helmets and thought the quality was excellent and very light. Love it.

Proper lid, best helmet I've ever had. Nothing comes close IMO, certainly my choice out of all the top end lids currently.
