Got this as a second helmet, wanted one with an internal drop down dark visor. Not been out yet to try it, hoping it's quieter than my Arai Rebel. Feels light compared to the Arai as well.
Bought at the Excel show, discounted then ended up paying half of that.

So not exactly a bargain, but cheap enough that I was "very 'appy"

Obviously added a dark visor and thought the addition of 10 quids worth of visor decals was worth paying for to make it more like a true Rossi replica

Love the helmet. Love the tear offs. That sad if you pull one of them off on the way to Asda your in for a mocking smile
I got tear offs with my bell. I was too ashamed to even fit them to my helmet when I did a endurance race. That said every part of me did want to. Its pretty cool laughlaugh

I love a brightly coloured lid! That Rossi helmet is a beauty.

Here's my Chaz Davies rep that I bought a few months back:

I'm not sure if this is the latest helmet pic thread, but I couldn't find another one.

Anyway, I sold the Arai XD-4 for a very good price, and picked up a Shoei Hornet X2. The fit and finish feel great, can't wait to try it on the road/off-road. The Arai flowed a lot of air, but it was just too noisy/vibratory for me.

One of the later models, used exclusively on the track....... felt a bit of a knob the one time I wore it to commute

No, but I’ve cancelled my order for a plain X-Spirit 3 to try one of these when I can get hold of one.

Shoei are top of the game for aero so I’m sure it will be good but it’s not a nice looking thing to my eye.

Perhaps better with graphics but I don’t like it plain.

Just seen that. Wonder how they have stock if they aren’t due to be released till September? I have a feeling that they are pre order only?

Just went to place an order for the matte black one on SportsbikeShop and they are on a 14 week lead time?

Edit:
Custom lids in Newcastle are showing them as being in stock and ready for next day delivery too. However when I got to my basket it changes to pre-order now for late September delivery so I assume late September is the official release date?

Your new helmet is a model that was replaced 5-6 years ago?

That’s pretty much my take on it too. I can’t wait till end of September for one so I’ve just placed an order for a black X-Spirit 3 and some fancy dan Alpinestars gloves.

The bonus with the XS3 being that my photochromatic visor will fit it whereas it doesn’t look like it would fit the new model due to the central visor lock.

My x spirit 3 is 5 years old this year although I’ll probably use it for another 1-2 years as it hasn’t seen much use since I bought it.

I’m definitely tempted my the replacement but will have to see if there is another transitions visor and how much it will be. I think I’ll certainly be missing the discount from when I worked at Getgeared as I think I only paid around £500 for the helmet and visor back in 2017!

Brave man.

You sure you want to risk dying 6 times a ride on every ride during those extra 1-2 years?

8 times actually. Increases to 24 times a ride in the second year.

Interestingly with all of the helmet manufacturers I did training for none of them really specified an end of life other than when the warranty ran out but the warranty only really covers vents coming off etc. Given mine has done less than 3000 miles, I’m pretty confident it’ll be ok.

I went to MCL with the intention of getting a Shoei but the fit was better with the AGV K6 and RPHA11, ended up getting this one in the carnage marvel colourway from Motocard at a lot less than I could find in the UK. Really happy with it so far, it is a bit on the noisy side but I always ride with earplugs so not really a problem.

Dug this out recently as I've just bought a new bike. Looks immaculate, but unfortunately all the padding is turning to dust, so will have to replace it.

(Arai Quantum from around 1996 Doohan replica pattern, but different colours)
