You have ridden a 50cc bike on the road for a few months and now you want to race?
I don't knock ayone with a dream but i think you are wasting everyones time.
I will give you £100 the first competetive race you enter.

why wats wrong with that bike? looks quite clean but the only thing is a bit offputting is the 'new speedo' reading 500 miles.
Old 2 stroke, imported. Anyway, I'm not looking to buy a bike. That was a mere example of what I'm aiming for when I get the license st outta the way.
The way I'm hopefully going the bike will be provided.

I've ridden for 10 years all geared no auto st. I can ride a bike alright.
Biggest capacity bike I've ridden is 250 off road at ash down MX track. I'll even stick a (rather stty) video up when I next get on the PC (tomorrow).
Sounds like you'll clear up in BSB next season.Biggest capacity bike I've ridden is 250 off road at ash down MX track. I'll even stick a (rather stty) video up when I next get on the PC (tomorrow).

Very intregued now, your racing career hasn't even started yet you'll be supplied a bike? Or are you planning some sort of package with a team.
Come on, where is the BB spirit, I am sure one of you boys could lend him your track bikes!!Seriously tho, it's good to have dreams and ambitions, the danger tho is to get carried away.
I am sure many of us on here have had schemes/plans and projects we have got carried away on, in fact I bet many of you wish you had sounded out others on the idea before going ahead and wasting time and money.
Nothing may come off Liam's dreams but if he can gather information and advice then at least he can make an informed decision,he may decide it is not worth pursuing after all but that is up to him.
All the best to you I say.

I'd be concerned about buying a bike from a dealer that uses an ill informed american website as their source of information for the description in their ads.I would have to strap a sack of spuds to my road bike to get it anywhere near the weight they claim it is.
The speedo has done 500 miles. What about the rest of the bike?

It was a genuine question, I'm not trying to piss on your chips but since you want to take it to a piss taking level to be brutally honest you are coming across as a bit naive.
Sorry mate, didn't meant to piss take. Think of it as a pet name. How about racing MZs? www.bmzrc.org.uk is their website, looks like you can race with them from 15 and seems to be relatively affordable - I haven't got the money but fancy the idea. Or British Historic Motorcycle Racing, part of the VMCC, they've got classes for everything from BSA Bantams up to the likes of Manx Nortons, and it certainly sounds competitive. Their forums are at pchweb.co.uk/v_forum/index.php
