Love it! All other crap aside, shots like this are why I respect each and every rider on that grid for their talent, commitment and raw speed. Whether it's the guys at the top or the Petruccis and Abrahams! Awesome.

Well I'm putting 20 quid on Marquez or win the championship.
Although I'm also thinking of sticking a tender on him to win the hand bike race at the 2016 Paralympics.

Yep he is generally into anything racing which involves petrol, engines and going fast.

Amazing really that people go on about Rossi vs Stoner when Rossi has been racing Biaggi, Gib, Cap, Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Stoner and is still up there. Remarkable.

Excellent!

Honestly not wanting to start a Rossi/Stoner war part to the thread but I do laugh at the Stoner fans who constantly lay into Rossi. It's like it's the new cool thing to hate Rossi. confused

By laying into him they're ironically no better than the Stoner haters that they blame Rossi for bringing to the sport. laugh

The same people wheel out the "I watch for the racing, not for the personalities". That's great but I'd just like to mention 2 points.

1) If you watch for the racing then surely you must appreciate the racing Rossi has brought up over the years vs Biaggi, Gibernau '05, Stoner '09/'10. Some epic racing.

2) If you can support and cheer for someone you don't particularly like, great, good for you. I like to cheer for people who are great on track but also who seem like likeable lads and no, that doesn't mean I wish they were my new best friend as someone put it on here. laugh

Yes I'm a Rossi fan, but also a Haydon, Cal, Dani, Edwards fan. I can appreciate Stoners riding but just didn't like him so found it hard to cheer about him.
He was a whinger and I know his fans say "he just tells it how it is" and "Rossi was whinging all last year". True but even when he won Stoner would still say things like "Yeah happy to get the win but I was just coasting the bike home as x or y wasn't right" (not an exact quote)

Rossi said yesterday after the test “Jorge did a great race simulation, at a very high level and he rides so well. If I had tried to do a race simulation today I could not go as fast as him.”

Telling it like it is. I don't see mind games (although there is always that going on to a degree) or whinging. He just says fair and square "I could not go as fast as him".

Anyway, rant over. I just think it's weird how people are berated for calling Stoner but then the same people caling others "Rossi fan boy chavs"can do the same about Rossi.

He's the greatest of all time due to his results and racing . So let's appreciate the racing.
Is he past his best? Maybe, I don't know. Will he win another championship ever? Maybe, I don't know.
What I do know is I'll enjoy watching to see what happens, but I'll also be enjoying watching the other 20-odd lads on the grid, who I have equal respect for.

Peace! hippy

Vale loves bikes, he loves racing. If you followed his Twitter postings over the winter, he was running a 30 or 40 strong dirt/speedway/dirtrack sliding school with his mates and a lot of fellow MOTOGP and upcoming racers, in freezing fog, rain etc.

Not just a special racer, also a very special guy, I do not think we will ever see him leave the paddock.
He just posted a nice one of these up ... http://instagram.com/p/VjgouyuDUl/
