I think the hand written message was a bit of a myth.

The 1998 models had a ride safe message with Baba signature but that was moulded as part of the fairing - please tell me mine wasn't the only one with that message!

This is mine, goes out in all weathers done some touring on it. Almost 30K now.

I remember when the Blade first came out. Correct me if Im wrong but didnt it get a reputation as a bit of a widow maker ? I think the Editor of MCN died on his at the time. That might have just been pub talk back then.
It was a hell of a lot of bike.

The first blades had 16" front wheels great for the twisty bits not so good going flat out.

Not quite, Chris Dabbs was paralysed on an early blade.

It wasn't a Fireblade he was riding, it was a BMW and it was a car pulling out on him. Maybe it was someone else you're thinking of?
