anyone else had this problem with the sj4000.

for 20 minute videos its great but I went a run on Friday, 2 hours long and when I went to play it back the file was corrupt.

same again, got a fair few from my sessions yesterday on track but the one in which I crashed, then left the camera on while the bike got picked up and whilst I fixed the bike still recording has became corrupt. still loads of space on my card but for some reasons if the video goes beyond 20 minutes it doesn't play.

anyone know how to fix a corrupt file?
You crashed, ha ha!
I don't own SJ, but it sounds very typically misconfiguration of some sort, when upon certain amount of data is meant to be saved or overwritten. Surely there are buttons for complete reset.

it was fine for me, I just wanted a semi decent camera to capture my lines and hear my throttle so I can work on improving.

I think it might be because in both occasions the camera died due to a low battery, this might result in it not "ending" the recorded section meaning the file isn't complete.

That's bullst if that is the case, GoPro shuts down properly savuing the file in the process if battery dies.

To prove it this is Me, riding to work this morning

The battery went flat (forgot to charge it when I noticed it low yesterday) as I got to work, the file is still 100%.

How do you mount them to your bike ? Or is a bike specific one you buy ?

There are dozens of mounting options, but the simplest mounts just use strong double sided sticky tape. You can get mounts that bolt down to the petrol filler surround, handlebar clamps, stem mounts, clamps you could use on a mirror etc..etc..

Make sure your SD card is formatted to FAT32, with a 32K cluster size. This worked for me smile

Some have had success using ExFAT at 32K cluster size.

I have/had an SJ4000, bought a cheap cam just to see if id actually bother with one.

Crapped out about the 4th time I used it on mild bit of downhill on a mountain bike - I think a lens problem as it went all blurry. I didn't expect it to last but did think I'd see how much I used and if I actually bothered to view the footage - then shift it on ebay to invest in something better. I did a Google at the time and a fair few of folk have had a variety of problems - many due to firmware iirc. Check Techmoan review comments for issues people have had.

The supplier Foxoffer sent me out a new one, but I just gave it to a colleague, I didn't ebay it as I didn't want to lumber someone else with it. As said avoid Chinese st if you want a reliable cam.
