baselayers for £13 from aldi, im not one to wear these gay as fk things, normally I refuse to wear anything other than a football top or a hoodie under my leathers but my physio swears by these and says that base layers are the way to go with my shoulder injury and to keep out the cold. so i might get a set even if its just to sit at the football with.

yous awb's or scottish bikers might find these useful

went to aldi to get a base layer and found a torque wrench for £17

28nm-220 ish

1/2 drive with a few socket pieces

it will do for doing the back wheel, ill use my decent one for everything else

not to be sniffed at though for 17 quid, better than using the universal unit of measurement "grrrr thats tight enough so it doesnt fall out" for tightening up the back wheel

Cause the permanent trickle charging would affect your electricity bill too much?

Your arse is so tight you could sharpen a pencil with it.
yes and I don't see the point as I have 3 bike = 3 batteries

they only need one charge a month at best

No idea what it does to my electric bill, but I bought an optimate pro with 8 connectors, so I can charge multiple bikes / batteries simultaneously smile
Not a lot. My bike charger is 12v x 0.6A max output, so 0.007 kW max (I suspect this output drops considerably during maintenance modes).

So whilst charging (assuming 12.461p per kWh) for 24 hours it costs a max of 2 pence. Even MTB couldn't begrudge that.
It would cost me £1.80 a battery for 3 months of trickle charging

£5.40 fk that besides they dont fking need to be constantly charged

id sooner have a battery that lasts a few years less than one thats been trickle charged.

my logic is, the plastic and protective container has a shelf life, id sooner have it so my battery dies by not powering my bike as opposed to rupturing and melting fk out of my bike

No 60p a battery if they're doing a slow full charge (on mine at least which is 0.6A max output).

As I said I think when it hits maintenance mode the ampage drops but don't know for certain and how much.

Melting and rupturing? Seriously man, we're talking low numbers here...
60p A battery for a month x3 batteries = £1.80 for the 3 months my bikes are off the road x3 = £5.40

As ive said before I used to be a dangerous goods tester/material tester. I've tested stuff like this to destruction and know how easily 10 can pass and one can fail yet it still gets its approved certificate, thats perhaps why I air on the side of caution.

plus i dont want 3 fking batteries sat out in my house charging all winter. i dont mind if i leave them in the livingroom due to sheer laziness however

I dont have means of power to my garage sorry thought you knew this. thought id said I bring my batteries in the house and charge them once umpteen times on other topics.

trickle chargers are fine i have no issue with this, what I dont trust is a 15-20 year old battery casing in my pride in joy.

its the degradation of the container over time id have an issue with. these have a shelf life, what i was trying to say was if you kept your battery on trickle charge it would last for decades and could exceed the shelf life of the battery. as opposed to me who eventually takes them out in winter charges it once then again before he wants to use the bike. this is bound to decrease the life of the battery as opposed to trickle charging them probably bringing them in line with manufactures "best before".

I just dont see the point of trickle chargers, batteries have a used by date on them for a reason, not because they suddenly stop working after that date, because if they are well maintained they will exceed that time frame but because the container hasnt been tested beyond this timeline so could fail.

Bargain of the century....ASDA is doing petrol jerricans for £2 5 litre ones.

I got 2 I got one when it was £4 but I couldn't resist the sale so got two more.

you may ask, what does one man need 3 5 litre jerricans for (4 if you count my dads one)

one for each bike when draining the tank of course to stop cross contamination of fuel.....

actually my thinking was fuel for track days, you can get 20 litre ones obviously but that's too much like using your brain....
