From what I've learned (knew) one using it on a public road- should have certification sticker, but there is no law to prohibit sale of any, even without any certification
(I can only comment on M10)
and yes, site etc says it had passed ECE safety, even on Sharp site it has 3*, based on my own inspection- quality of build, functionality makes it to be irrelevant, I don't feel neither safe, neither comfortable.
So back to the question of displaying certificate- if you don't have one displaying (or as other one puts fallen off), in case you get pulled over or have an accident- it should become inconvenience at bad will of fuzz or Insurer's

im confused are you mark Holland? did you buy a pink mans dressing gown as well, I seen you left a review on that
anyway.
if so how is it not to spec? does it need a sticker to be used on the uk roads?

The Mrs has the helmet and it appears to fit well but she hasn't used it yet...to be honest again it isn't that bad, the paint seems ok and the clasp is the same design as on my premier open face which works really well ( ratchet type)
So i guess she will give it a try and see, if not i will send it back and save myself £60 in birthday present money.

Pretty much as I've found. My only criticism was that the strap was hard to make small enough for her but whilst fiddly it was doable. I really like it and to be honest, was gutted it fitted her better than it fitted me

Traditionally one favours objective assessments over subjective ones. But its your money.(I can only comment on M10)

Should have it on the outside according to who?
I'm sorry but I've three helmets, all from big retailers , none have an external sticker but all are marked inside. Like your bell one is
The law states you must have a legal helmet. Not that you must display a sticker on the outside saying it's ok. Just think about how foolish it would be to check only stickers which can be forged.
Why my insurers would care is beyond me but I'm sure they too would be similarly disinterested in stickers.
No mention of a sticker here. http://www.helmet-guide.com/motorcycle-helmet-law/ and there is a E marked tab on the strap.
to be honest, I know the sharp testing gets a lot of stick on here and else where but after investigation it really shouldn't and give a good bench mark as what to look for when buying a helmet
5 star for the m5x was enough for me to go ahead with the purchase at £100
the 3 star and the shades of red on side impact and general piss poor score on a helmet you bought should be indication NOT to go for it, well at least at the RRP

@ review (fair and honest, late one) and user name issue directed comments reply would be... wtf( in copy paste fair comment would be)?
@ ones, believing in good value and "big" named helmet wearers- there was least valued/named brand helmets made by LIDL, that were worlds apart in head protection criteria (5*)
bottom ( last) comment on the "BELL on amazon" helmets- its absolute scam shiite ( M10 most particularly)
2003 got knocked in front of turning car in to the garage... my thinking bits where 6" away from pensioner's front wheel.
about 2000's got pulled over for speeding ( unproven :P ), so my Nolan helmet sticker got me out of further hastle...
in 1998 I had an horrendous accident where my Laser lid saved the brains from spilling on a curb...
unfortunately, since going upmarket and then down market in lids (flip ups only, due to specific trade and ride type changes(lid type preferences)) the latest NASTY SURPRISE - M10 (By Bell allegedly)....
laters chaps!
plain and simple- name faked pile of poo, meant for head protection worth considering quality of brain protecting.... (only best intensios here)
( I do apologize in advance to enthusiastic posters)

I bought the Bell MX4. Overall, I'm very happy for the £54 delivered. I have the black/white with blue striped one.
Its construction and quality seems miles better than my cheap £80 Spada helmet I was using. Its comparible in quality to my other helmet - an AGV. The Paint job is deep and looks really good up close. The Medium size I have is quite a tight fit, but most new helmets are, and given a few weeks always loosen up a bit. The padding and visor seem good quality. There is a slight cut out on the left of the helmet to assist raising the visor - that's why it has no tab. The visor is quite stiff to raise though.
Its pretty light - I weighed it at 1350 grams, and is not super noisy @ 70mph, but no noisier than other helmets I've owned.
Bargain for the money, definitely. Oh, and the strap is E-marked, so its completely legal to use in the UK.

in relation of M10 shame of a lid only
BTW ECE sticker isn't needed to be displayed anymore, as rules obviously changed.

Plenty of way better helmets within same'ish price bracket (be it without big name), that are better made and saferBMbler said:

anger for being naive believing, that the lid was made by Bell or Bell standardsBMbler said:

Listing out accidents when helmets saved me despicable (or near to being critical) in safety parameters. Particular accident when once knocked off, some pensioner stopped casually no more than 6" in front of my head, his car bumper already touched my lid. Very important to unacceptable weakness at the bottom of a helmet compared to any other helmet to squash sideways. Lids from 90's would outperform M10BMbler said:

Old bill was whining etc, not happy on me insisting on not checking the speed, so being unaware of being a tad too fast, as I had just overtaken some truck with rubbish falling of it etc etc... so that my helmet (with green sticker) I wore, was good example on my negotiations as how careful and cautious of a rider I am! (!, yes, really officer!)BTW ECE sticker isn't needed to be displayed anymore, as rules obviously changed.

Long story, don't like to delve to much in to it, apart, that cheap'ish (I thing about £55 at the time lid, not great looking) saved me from being dead or disabled.BMbler said:

once started to use flip-ups, quality of the lid is ever more of an importance regardless of name displayed on it.laters chaps!

I do!WTF are you on about man, look, we get it, your not impressed with the quality but you are buying the budget helmet of that range. Amazon have a return policy, by all means vent that your not happy and return it, don't ramble on like an arse listing every crash you had and how the helmet wouldn't save you, oh and plod wont give a fk about your sticker. A bike cop would see Bell and go right no problem a normal plod wouldn't have a fking clue, its not a legal requirement to have one as well.
Oh and BN showed up with his today at Knockhill and got on no questions asked.
I got my M5x, over the moon, whilst I wouildnt have bought it for £350 for the design but for a £100 its a bargain.
visor is a bit of a pain to change but I can live with it
cant figure out how to get the nose guard in
oh and my nose does touch it at times, my god I blinked when I shut the visor I thought it was gone, but then I am rather gifted in the nose department
the wee grey vents aren't in keeping with the helmet
heres the good parts
light as anything, tinted and clear visor, breath guard and an amazing helmet bag, try getting that from Arai.
the paint detail is awesome, its all gold and glittery, so much depth, on a par or better than Arai.
the lining is rather smart, well put together and i'm bloody glad I got it for £100
not ridden in it yet
over the moon thanks for the link

There certainly doesn't appear to be any quality issues with the M3x that I got, haven't ridden with it yet but all looks ok, no visor issues like I've read in a couple of reviews. Will give it a try soon and see how it goes.
No spare visors with this one though, might have to find a dark one as I reckon it would look a bit better than clear and keep it for daytime use.
