Bargain Crazy Thread
Discussion
I'm very tempted by one of these Bell carbons (either the Daytona M5 or maybe the M6) but my biggest concern is whether I'll be able to wear glasses with it - any of you guys wear specs? My Arai Quantum has neat little cutouts in the lining to accommodate them, unlike the Shoei it replaced which was a bloody nightmare as a result.

Decent sunglasses will be much better for your eyes than a tinted visor anyway. I can't ride with specs as it freaks me out, otherwise I'd do the same. Love this as an idea though and got to be easier than normal glasses, if a little weird

I know it's kind of cheating but I'm happy with this. Bought one of these http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/c... for £380 today. Didn't need it but it was too cheap to pass up.

Cheers for posting this bargain, just taken delivery of mine and it is a good fit (ordered Large, I'm normally a L in Arai).
However there's no Gold ACU sticker. Looking at the pictures you folks have posted up and none seem to have this.
Should I be concerned?
They're approved helmets. I bought my last Shoei from Germany that doesn't have a gold ACU sticker either. ACU only matter if you're going racing. However there's no Gold ACU sticker. Looking at the pictures you folks have posted up and none seem to have this.

From what I've seen helmet sellers in the UK get a roll of them and stick them on before sale in the shop. That's why you can often find a sympathetic helmet seller to let you obtain one.
When I rang ACU they also said I could pop in and get a sticker as long as I brought the helmet. Sadly their offices were too far for me.
As Loon says though, ACU approve the make/model, not the individual helmet. For that reason I'm not even convinced it's an issue even at the trackdays that claim you need one.

If it's anything like my AGV, the matt finish is a lacquer applied over a gloss helmet, and it comes off in patches over time. Granted my AGV is now 9 years old but the matt finish started to come off it about 8 years ago...
The matt finish on my AGV appeared to be vinyl. It didn't feel like a very robust finish but seemed to stay put.I think most of the sizes have sold out in the Bell carbon ( gold version)
I would say there are a bit smaller than other makes, but not by much, some people are buying the same size as other makes, but others may need to go up a size.
I could fit on a large HJC/Shoei but I have an XL Bell, which is a snug fit.
At £180 it is a steel, Amazon are also great. I have just sent back my other Bell MX5 via click& collect as the tinted visor had cracked, all I wanted was a replacement visor, but as they didn't have any they gave me a full refund after nearly a year.
