riding in this morning - I had a chirp of wind noise early on - but a quick fiddle with the vents and it never returned so no issues there.

wind noise at low speeds (say sub 70) is really good - would say a shade better than the chaser v - noise increases as you push thru 90 and over 100 - but would say was comparable as made no difference.
Haven't had an issue with the other stuff, but this is something I have noticed.

I assume the wind noise is coming from the top vents? I can't see anyway to close those, although I haven't given it a thorough inspection.

I breathe through my mouth on track I know this because a fly, or at least it tasted like a fly flew through the mesh vent and right down my throat. I nearly crashed as I was tipping in for the corner. Maybe that's why it doesn't steam up.

I tried various vent combinations (well 3 I spos - btw on the M6 the whole plastic bit of the top vent just moves back and forward) I also tried both nose breathing and the usual rain technique of blowing the air downwards with pursed lips ! the top did clear at one stage - then it misted at a different point of the visor.... it wasnt that cold this morning so it didnt bode well.

maybe I just breathe / pant like a sex offender then ! but older arai clearvision pinlocks were epic - you could have a hot cup of tea in 2 degrees and pant like a dog and no steaming what so ever - my route to work is dark dingy and fecking dangerous so im a little precious about having good vision

I don't have the nose guard in and the vents are closed too, as it's too noisy (for my taste) with them open.

Have you got a "chin curtain" in? If so remove it, they are a mare for causing fog even on decent days. My Shoei drove me mad until I sussed it was chin curtain causing it. !!

Ordered the M5X Carbon yesterday with free delivery and bought the visor off J&S both arrived today excellent service. The helmet is really light and just looks quality, I ordered a Large as I have tended to have Sharks before always Large and it fits perfect.

Thanks everyone for the heads up on both items

Tinted visor arrived yesterday and great looking matt carbon helmet arrived today. Surprisingly light and a snug fit.
I went for an XL, my shark s700 and Vision-R are large. I bought a large bell m4 on last year's deal and couldn't get it over my ears.

I'm big headed, so bug headed that many (Rubin / blackK1 / SepticEsceptico) think I'm arrogant and I'm only a large. How big are your heads?

Wonder if it was one of you lot in the Sapcote Shell earlier tonight filling your Triumph Speed Triple. Whoever it was had one of these fancy new Bell CF Lids. Looked fantastic.

These helmets look great. I am a large in an Arai (which this will replace) but went for an xl in the shuberth. If these are a bit tight compared to arai am I best going xl?

Buy whichever size and then return it if it doesn't fit right and get a different size. Amazon returns are piss easy and free.

After 200 miles at the weekend the Bell Carbon in XL is a bit tight for me.

My ears actually went numb, slight pain in the forehead area, also the chin strap is a bit cheap and abrasive with no padding so I found that after while my neck got a bit sore. So I guess it wont be the helmet I wear for long trips.

I got misted up to hell last night in the rain..... if it was summer I would keep it - but given it the start of 6 months of misery commuting I think I may offload my M6 Carbon. Paid £237 but what is a fair price for it after wearing it for 3 days ? The mrs has helpfully thrown away the receipts and gubbings that came with it - but kept the box and carry bag....

If anyone wants a M6 carbon (pics in this thread maybe two pages back) you can have it for £180 quid if you come and get it from Ongar ( in between brentwood/chelmsford in essex)

Ben.
