Too those of you who like working out power to weight ratios.. Could you ride something like the NC700s or x on a A2 licence?

I'm asking because my daughter is considering doing her test (she's 18, so I've told her to wait till she's 19 (she likes the look and the idea of them)) and all this power/weight ratio crap is doing my head in.
visor down says NC700 is OK http://www.visordown.com/features/a2-motorcycle-li...

And they appear correct. 47BHP for 218kgs is way below the limit.

just try one. Some heavy bikes feel light to ride. The rake / seat height etc all affect it.
I think COG is the keyword for heavy bikes feeling light to ride.

Having actually sat on one, it's the lightest feeling bike I've sat on this side of a 125. Feels lighter than a street triple, all the weight is über low and central.

Seat position is great, looks reasonable quality, if your after a new cheap commuter with combined ABS and 70mpg it's spot on.
At this power point I'd probs go for a BMW G650 single though.

I wish Honda would revisit its XBR500 single from the '80s.
Looks like this as standard:

But could easily be made to look like this:

or this:

Great little bike, sadly missed, and would be just right for today IMO.

Not sure the white livery is the best, they do it in red, black or silver an' all, any of which looks better IMO.

I sold a few of those GB500TTs in 1990/91. Wheels International on the A5 nr Dunstable used to import them from the US - probably unsold stock...great little bikes I seem to remember.

I'd rather have this;

If you've got to be slow you may as well be slow and cool. And not lose any money in depreciation - the opposite if anything at the moment. And not need an MoT (although mine's 64, they did start in 56/57), get free tax and cheap insurance if you can at your age - dunno how old you have to be now.

Probably a slight price difference for initial purchase now, though, eh?

Surely it's worth getting a loan to buy something if it's an appreciating asset, so do that to cover the difference. Man maths biggrin

Isn't this a (sort of) reborn CB500 with a full fairing?
