Hah! Yeah, the 'for' autocorrect (to 'got') probably didn't help.

Honda got car engineers in to have a go at designing their GP bike and they decided to go mad for lowering the centre of gravity (like you do in cars) and knackered the handling.

You'd think Honda would have learned from that, but they did the opposite for the 2007/08 Honda F1 car. That didn't go well either.

Here's our RG500 specials...

[

They are a bit of a mixture of old skool / new skool...
RG500 engines of course but with Nova gearbox and Nova dry clutch.
Spondon frame and swing arm.
Spondon hand beaten aly tanks.
Swarbrick pipes
Ohlins front end
RGV plastics (air scoops added)
special one piece seat unit.
BST Carbon fibre wheels
all put together by two stroke specials bulder extraordinaire Mr Darren Lane, with Schwantz tribute paintwork by Darren's friend Steve.
PS did a feature on them some time back.

Remember them well, done many miles on them? Still running fine?

I was lucky enough to talk to Darren and meet his brother, Shaun I think(?), another 2 stroke nut a few weeks ago, really nice guys.

I dont know about P@rn but heres some of my 2 stroke collection, from age 16 and the mighty MTX50 with 65cc bore kit and Jama pipe! (still got wasted by similarly equiped TS50s!) to my current RD350LC

I only wish i could have kept all these and bought more..and despite its lack of BHP Vs the 500's, I much prefered my NS400s over the RG.

I couldnt find my own Maico photo, mine was never as immaculate as that...worth some serious dollar now in that condition...riding the Maico made my RG500 feel tame..

What's with the posse of green Fiestas?
Me and two friends purchased three brand new from Ford at the time as i knew someone who worked there and got a discount, paid less than £9k new in 2007 which was super cheap at the time list was around £12k.

Px'd 12 months later for £8200 wink

2 Stroke question whilst I am here.

Scooter Cuts out. Has Spark, Has Fuel. No compression says RAC man.

Is that a rebuild? And how many hours should the labour roughly be. (Asking for a friend)

how much does a season of go karting cost yazza. all in fuel, kart and gear.

just out of interest
anywhere between £1000 and £500,000 depending on what you race and how competitive you want to be. I race at our local club, been racing about 6 months and have probably spent around £8000 (on kart, gear, entries, spares, repairs and running)

Oops missed this. But yeah, it's hard to do any form of racing on a shoestring. We probably did 400 quid a meeting. But then there's buying everything, consumables etc.

expensive business.

caterham racing last season came to about £14k but £8k of that was the car, which was worth £500 more once i'd finished with it (and won the champ!).

The bike that started my motorcycle infatuation was a Maico 400. I was 12 and bravely road it across a field in the pouring rain and it had no proper exhaust and only a front brake eek

Would love one for nostalgia's sake but they are BIG money now irked
