I'd still sooner take one of those around Knockhill than a Barry'd Fiesta.

Agreed. Best to stick to a speed you are used to.

Its easy to sit and take the piss from the safety of a keyboard, I would suggest that the ones taking the piss that have not yet been on track should have a go first before they chuck stones.

wee bit of an update....

so here I was on my first track day.

here is a few from my latest

update time again, took on board some advice that was flung at me the last time. I just basically forgot about position and rode what feels natural to me. I was flung into the fast group so to be hoenst I never had much time to think other than fk me there goes mcguiness and Mackenzie's boy.

They're looking good. You still need more speed though and get your head up to look where you're going.

going on from ocd's thread.

after 5 morning/evening sessions (about 5 hours track time in total) and 3 full day ones (about 8 hours on track in total) = 13/14 ish hours, this is my progress with my riding position. I've used many tips from phers and Niall Mackenzie, john McGuiness was st.

this was well after the apex

one going in

and another crap one

for some reason I never get photos of me in corners so excuse the crap photos

the biggest thing for me that worked was sitting a bit further back and using the outer arm to "grasp" the tank more and dropping my inside, this seemed to result in me getting my knee down without even trying to and it being a bit more smooth looking. Mackenzie and McGuiness both noticed a huge difference from the last time (I think they just say that to be nice) im miles of being fast, I went out with BN and got a bit embarrassed but my pace is consistent and getting there a bit more each time.

looking at them I really need to get my head down more where the mirror is next, any other pointers?

John McG probably went quick when he first jumped on a bike and doesn't know how he did it!
