I had the chance to see the first production bike arrive for it's strip down and conversion to the BSB race bike a couple weekends ago. The finish and detailing was exquisite, and it seemed a shame to convert it to a race bike. 100's of Poggipolini Ti bolts throughout, Magnesium and Ti components used liberally with plenty of MV detailing, a handbuilt blueprinted and weight minimised and balanced 212hp motor, etc. Circa 100 bikes to be delivered to race teams, and about 150 customer bikes. Ok, she's not a V-twin, but in terms of IL4s, the MV F4 has a noise that is uniquely savage. The RC is the F4 swansong, and it will be interesting to see what MV will replace it with.

Passed my Mod 1 earlier today, so bike shopping now begins in earnest. Right now I can't see far beyond this as a first big bike... seems like the total package I'm after.

Update: Passed my Mod 2 last tuesday, arranged a test ride saturday morning, loved it, placed an order.

Should be in my possession before the end of the month. Can't wait!

wrote my multistrada off after 4 weeks, replaced it with this as I've been looking at them with a dribbly mouth for ages. pick it up on 1st June.
I tried to convince myself that I was done with sportsbikes, but jesus, just looook at it....

biggrin

Hehehe. I pick mine up on the 11th of June. I really can't wait.
Got mine last Monday and finally got out on it for a long run at the weekend. wonderful piece of kit and very much looking forward to taking it to the TT on Weds. Much easier to ride than my memories of my mates 1199.

Cheers guys. The test ride totally sold me on it. Seems like everything I want right now at least.

After seeing quite a few on IoM last week, a Norton.

OR, a Bonnie. Something like that style of bike anyway, and if it came with a 2-stroke engine - better still smile

Don't try one. I did a couple of years ago and, as SpareParts mentions, the noise on OEM pipes is intoxicating. (Which is a good thing because any other system worth its salt is well north of £2,000 biggrin )

I've decided I'm going to buy a T595 next. Or alternatively, the same looking 955i Daytona after it was rebranded as such, but before it moved to the twin headlight look and lost the SSWA. It's been the bike I've dreamed of owning, and I thought a Speed Triple might have been a good route towards it, but ultimately I thought I might as well just get the one I dream of, rather than just the one I really, really want. My obsession with them started at work, where a bloke on another shift would often ride his T595 in. I asked him when he was going to sell it to me, and he said he liked it too much to let it go. Must be a keeper then...

^^^^^^ One of these for me, quite fancy one next, now my biking has changed to just for fun, rather than AWB.

They sound good with the 70mm exhaust system, I sold mine though as it was a love hate thing, not that special really, low tank range, lights not good enough for night use, bits wrong, lovely to look at and easy to ride and comfortable even though it doesn't look it, well it is with the foam seat. A bit small too.

I realise it would be a dull place if we all liked the same things, but that ZZR is absolutely hideous in my eyes - sorry.

For the past couple of weeks I've mostly been lusting after this. Just the ticket for that quick Sunday blast, then I could turn mine into a bagger.

Really does look like they've crashed that and rebuilt it using whatever spare parts they had lying about.

No cohesion whatsoever.
