Could one perhaps attach the motorbike to the side of the car with a sort of outrigger arrangement instead?
Don't be daft, it would compromise the handling of the car.

If you did it with a bike either side, though, it'd be the perfect solution...

Like I said - in marketing.

All I'm hearing is excuses. I want to see solutions, not problems, damn it.
Sorry Boss,

Get right to it.

Irrelevant. The car manufacturer will give a maximum roof load which is independent of any roof rack limitation, and around 75kg is a common figure.
Can you show me the data, or did you just make up the 75kg figure?
Tell you what. You fk off, find the supporting info and prove us wrong ok?
Until then, either do a mechnical engineering degree or fk off. Really.

I'm thinking that you could get a scaffolding pole straight through the back doors, in the gaps where the low-spec models have window winders. You could weld this to something that would clip to the ISOFIX connectors.

Then all you need is a few rolls of duck tape per bike, and you're away.

I think just one side would be fine - I'd suggest having it on the drivers' side so as to reduce the chance of scratching the bike on any shrubbery.

Not possible when I think of the straining noises my rack makes when it's only loaded with 2 race bicycles biggrin

The picture of the bike in the boot of the car has to be the best though rofl

Are you an angry shouty person in the real world or just on the internet?

Have I asked for your opinion or do you have nothing better to do?

You asked for everyone's opinion when you started the topic. The fact it's an idiotic topic means you'll get short shrift from those of us with more than one brain cell.

I am probably just as bad in the real world, which who knows by ignoring people like you could be why I am pretty successful at what I do.

Now, seeing we have some real brains in this thread, I have a real issue, any ideas how I can power my fridge?

Correct, but after all of the positive encouragement I have received here I have now applied to appear on Dragons Den.

3 Sheep could easily weigh over 200kg, and on top of a small car. I am even more determined now that such quality data has been supplied!

Perfect. If you connect it to the driver he should be able to blow himself along due to the amplification of his breath. In his case the hot air would be even more effective.

I am thinking that using the boot lid as a supporting surface would reduce stresses on the roof. The added advantage would be a lower overall CoG and being able to use a shorter ramp.

This idea has legs I tell ya.
