Bit clonky maybe.

Great flow.

A bit rough but hits my spots.

As does this one . . . even more.

Eastern Europe-ish.

I could go on and on.

I do like me a cafe racer, but part of me laments that they're becoming so common! Silly me.

Think it's the late 90's CB750, same as Vincefox's.

For a point to pointer, what about a CR500 stroker?

Looks pretty but you'd have thought if he'd gone to the trouble of swapping the rear swingarm then he'd have found some suitable forks!
Can't be more than a inch of travel left.

The beautiful simplicity of the Rickman Metisse.

Now we're talking! And mix in a bit of Velo;

Although I'd strip it back a bit personally!

And I know it's a full race bike, not a caff but good god this is beautiful...

Each to their own and all, but to me, those frames are fugly. I reckon the Norton featherbed had better lines

That won't be nice to ride. Having experienced a CR500 on tarmac I wouldn't want to be hunched over a rigid set up - they need some flex to work.

Could be a standard 250 frame though.

Reminds me of;

... which does balloon tyres successfully, because it's not trying to look sporty!

I know where there's one of these part built - 1000cc Ariel Square 4 in a Norton wideline featherbed rolling chassis. I'm in two minds about making an offer - those square 4's were known to have problems with the back two cylinders overheating; another Edward Turner failure, but if it isn't screwed to an inch of its life, should be ok.. I know the guy very well but I don't think he'll sell - but I also know he won't finish it.

Looks well though...

Personally, I'd like to do a Norton 650ss up like this.. Original motor in frame, just with the Manx look..

This is exactly the plan for my Dad's old 650ss once we're done with the Panther project. A Manx/Domiracer look would be cracking thumbup

Good man! I'll never forget tailing a guy on a mint looking 650SS (I was in my car) down the M1 - he was really shifting - ok not Ducati 1098 speeds, but easily doing around 100 on a 50 year old bike. It was just nice to see someone using one as they were intended smile

I've often thought about doing a Triton or similar, but the Dommi engine units were just as good, especially with the twin carb 500 & 600SS heads and camshaft choice, if not better considering the 650SS...

I know it's a bit late, but I spoke to a chap who's pretty well known for restoring some very old and very difficult bikes (rare, no parts etc) and he built a Triton for someone. He said he'd never do another. Mainly because you can buy all the bits, but none of them fit each other, so you spend more time modifying bits you've bought than you'd spend if you made them from scratch!

Really? The line under the tank/seat/tailpeice is all wrong, which is surely the point?
Like the front fairing and I'm sure the owner likes it, which is the main thing.
I guess it is all down to the individual, I like it and I am sure the owner does too.
I love the Gulf colour scheme.
Each to their owwn
I expect the bump in the 'tailpiece' is so that you can stick racing numbers on it. I've had a couple of bikes like that.

I like it too. Apart from the different coloured wheels. I'd have done them both in orange. But it isn't mine and i didn't build it smile
