I wonder what discounts will be available on the FZ8 now? The 2013 FZ8 has the adjustable suspension and a less monstrous-looking exhaust (plus £1k off the previous year's RRP). However, the colour choices are poor: white, grey, black, blue-wheels :
The MT-09 has adjustable suspension too I think.

It's built by the same boys that did the original R1 so I'll be very surprised if that's not something they've considered a priority.

I'd rather have (another) FZ1.

MCNs report isn't too complimentary.

The moving pictures www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs3RTfu3QC8

They seem to like it, overall.
The full write up is much more complementary.

I think the smaller "taster" articles are selectively edited to be a bit more controversial.

I like it a lot, apart from the front end. The Speed/Street Triple headlamps might be a bit marmite but at least they are distinctive, whereas this is ugly and uninteresting at the same time.

Is there any chance they will use the engine in a faired sports bike like the Daytona 675, or has the sports bike market crashed and burned never to return?

Yamaha is quoting 171 miles per tank and 53 mpg. Probably optimistic but I will find out when it arrives :-) found this picture somebody mocked up for interest.

That is a surprise. Expected such a twin to be 50+. Is that doing mainly urban stop-start stuff?
Nope, that's all kinds of riding, sounds strange but I get 100 miles to reserve if I'm caning it through the twisty's, or if I'm just pootling about town, or if I'm on a longer motorway/a road run. I suppose if I was really trying I could push for 120 before the reserve light though.

Aye 45mpg is st for a light bike. Both my modern bikes beat that in normal use & they both weigh as much as a bus.

I get 53mpg from the Pan on a decent run (ridden normally, did about 40 last weekend) & 45-48mpg from the 14.

If it empties pushing, you've got a leaky tank wink

Good effort pushing a bike that far though hehe

Local Yam dealer just offered me around £4325 for my 2012 WGP FZ8 with 4.5k miles on it. If only the MT didn't look like a supermoto, I kinda think the FZ looks a more like a naked R6/1 but I'm stuck because obviously the MT is a better bike.
A p/c would shirley sort the snatchy throttle response.
