Riding through the roof of the world
Discussion
I wish i had a fleet of GS's...hahahaha... maybe someday i can manage a few.
Best moment ever was seeing the look on my 72 year old client at the highest motorable road 18500ft. His parents were missionary so he lived quite a while in India and always wanted to go to Khardungla. At 72 he was not sure if he would be able to do it but i pushed him on and he made it.
The worst experience was fixing punctures on my back Tyre 8 times in one trip. This one trip i acted like a cheap ass and didn't replace a Tyre that had done The himalayan trip 4 times already. It made me weep!

Just taken a look at your web site and as most people might do but won't admit, I went straight to the price page. Have to say that looks really good value $4000 for 20 day adventure, bargain. Don't get me wrong, I can see the appeal but the scenery does little for me, I am more a green and blue man but what an adventure. Now if you did tours of India, I might have to start saving.
Hi Crossy67, thanks for looking up the site. I suggest you get down to saving as quickly as possible. The Rajasthan tour and The Holy ride are to beautiful tours through the land of royalty Rajasthan and The holy ride is riding through some of the most vibrant holy cities of India. Hope to see you on a tour with us someday.
Thanks The Moose,
We do around 200-400 km a day. It mostly depends on the region. In the Himalayas the roads are not all that great so a 200 km journey can take 4-6 hours. Riding in Rajasthan is a treat because we have beautifully surfaced wide highways so you can do 400 km in 5-6 hours. Mostly i try and keep the riding to a max of 6-7 hours a day.
Surprisingly it is not that often. I can't have ill people on bike rides so i make sure that nobody eats street fast food, water is always bottled water( used even to brush teeth ). Eat only cooked things and fruits that can be peeled only but sometimes no matter what you do you still get it. Mostly i have seen if you take care you would be fine.

Fair enough. Just curious as to how much saddle time you got. I'd be up for doing a trip such as this. How are the bikes for a pillion? When is the best time of the year to do it? What's the PH discount?!We do around 200-400 km a day. It mostly depends on the region. In the Himalayas the roads are not all that great so a 200 km journey can take 4-6 hours. Not sure what you mean but i accompany every tour on my bike which is the same as the rest of the group so i do get in a lot of saddle time.
The pillion riding is fine but if anyone wants a break they can ride in the back up vehicle anytime the pillion feels like. Best time for The Himalayan tour would be June July August, The Rajasthan tour is best in December and February.
PH discount is absolutely necessary...hahahahhaha.. We can talk about it when you are ready for such a trip. I haven't had anyone come from PH yet but i will be happy to give a PH discount to a PH group.

I'm a little unwell at the moment, but give it a few months and I should be back to full fighting strength. Maybe next year, I'd be interested in doing a trip such as this.
