What's left to come until you can start final assembly?
What will you be doing about wiring? Can you buy premade looms or will you have to do it from scratch?
Not worried too much about that yet, I thought you'd be able to buy looms, for instance like what people use when they convert an mx bike for road use??What will you be doing about wiring? Can you buy premade looms or will you have to do it from scratch?
Either that or make one/butcher one off another bike. It'll run with minimal wiring but I want it to have lights eventually - might run it on a daytime MOT for a bit in the meantime.
It's off for pipes building at the end of this month, some more bits to come then I can start building the motor.

Aye will have a digital dash and probably worth fitting lights, not much to it though. I'm sure I could use one off another bike but maybe it wouldn't cost much to have one made as you say.
Cannot wait to see it with spannies on. Gonna look awesome.
Who's making the exhaust for you? Have you got any drawings or a design?Cannot wait to see it with spannies on. Gonna look awesome.
If you have I can run it past my man in the know at work and get his opinion if you like? And he really, really is in the know on two stroke exhausts (confuses the feck out of me )
A bloke called Ken Gubbins his company is called TSA two stroke addicts, he's done a lot of these and is quite highly regarded by RD owners. In fact people tend to favour his pipes over the likes of gibson, jim lomas etc. but he's a one man band so probably never going to be as big as those guys.
Great thing is he's itching to get stuck in which is a big deal for me and is happy to measure everything up from scratch and design them for the spec I have rather than trying to sell me something that would work "ok" which I had from some people.
So design wise that's his bag, this isn't something I'm prepared to get too involved with, there's certain things I'll mention like stinger length, diameter etc that I've read up on and seen people test, but it's mainly down to him!

That's cool mate, and sounds like exactly the right thing to be doing. It's such an unbelievably complicated subject, and such small differences seem to make massive changes.
This chap's a good mate and he's absolutely passionate about two-strokes and designed quite a few of the 500GP systems for the big factories back in the day. What he doesn't know about two-stroke exhausts isn't known

Chains on and all lined up so all my guesswork careful measuring paid off
Ignore the tatty subframe, still needs a fair bit of modding.
Pleased with how neat the sprocket and carrier turned out, it's not that obvious but it's had a hell of a lot of work to fit the mito swingarm.
That's it for now, ready to have its pipes made. Anything that could potentially be in the way is fitted so it can be designed around. Taking it to Kenny @TSA this Sunday.
