Bear in mind if you have anything within an inch or so of a bell mouth it pretty much ruins the flow into the mouth.
The rule of thumb is 1/2 the diameter of the bellmouth, but you can get even closer than that provided the bellmouth isn't shrouded around the sides.
I can remember my H2 sucking in one of the legs of my flared jeans back in the seventies, it ruined my launch as you can well imaginebiggrin

Must have been one hell of a pair of "Lionels"!!
H2's needed to be ridden with your feet on the rear indicators....

Bellmouths on, have to see how they perform as there's not much space but the air filter is a much better fit with them on.

Need to relocate the carb overflow catch tank

Clothes on, pleased with the outcome

Got a few miles in and the flat spot found on the dyno is quite pronounced on the road, it feels like it needs a good tooth off the front or a few on the back as well, I'm cruising around in second at the moment which isn't ideal.

Plenty to improve but at least it can be ridden.

This has that 'Racer on the road' look, which I love.

Other than the flatspot, how does she sound (on the pipe)/ride/turn/handle/stop???

Did you do any calcs/empirical rule of thumb assessment for the carb size or induction/exhaust tuning for the 443 motor??? I'd think one of the 2 stroke guru's will have a few ideas.

Can't wait to see hear this thing in the flesh, great job IMHO.

Wow!! Truly stunning - Was well worth getting a proper paint job - you've done yourself very proud there mate - thought you'd been pretty quiet since your travels .....I see why now . Looking forward to seeing it close up . Just a thought from the images - possibly go black to lose it a bit with the rear seat unit support ?
Mightily impressive work - well done !
