Lack of sponsorship? Always a shame but times are hard.

Any idea what happened to Motodex BMW?
To an extent, he's running a Superstock spec bike in full fat BSB amd hasn't got the funds to upgrade it. Being let down by two sponsors and a team hasn't helped him though.

No idea about Motodex BMW

I know Tony Dexter and they also had sponsor/funding challenges for 2015 BSB. They've also moved the business back to the UK from Germany, so a lot on.

Hardly a seismic event iirc going by your criteria last year he is just another journeyman racer whose lack of championship wins contributed to his lack of sponsorship.
Happens all the time

Oh I know, I just thought as it was racer news it fitted in here. I think he's got more potential at his age than Guy Martin has now though, as they were at different stages in their careers.

Maybe so,However guy love him or hate him has made that transition from the motorcycle world to mainstream media.
His income imho far exceeds his cv tho I would disagree with you and say imho he is a succesful racer.
Good luck to him I say if you can make good money fking about

I've got no issue with him doing a good job of his PR and moving beyond bike racing, it's important in such a short lived career. What I take issue with is the way people talk about him, as if he's the unluckiest racer ever and deserves a TT win. That's all.

He won't do the TT, unless he's changed his mind from last year, which is possible. He has had it with racing though based on his comments.

Update on the above.

Joe Burns is retiring from all racing with immediate effect
Well, that retirement didn't last long!

I said that it was shorter than mine to him today. He'll be racing this weekend in SS1000

Michael Rutter stepping down at Gearlink, I don't know if this is for one meeting or longer?

Barry Burrell takes over the ride for Thruxton

Why not?

Since that awesome title fight with seeley in 2013 he's been on the decline, surely a change of team is worth a bash?

Isn't he romantically involved with Norma?

I doubt his extreme style suited the superbike
I’ve never been a fan of his riding style and always thought he was an accident waiting to happen at every single turn. Fair play to him though, somehow he managed to get it to work for him.

I never understood how throwing yourself across the bike with such vigour didn’t unsettle the bike to the point of more front washouts

There was a guy in Inters at Oulton yesterday who was probably the most violent rider I've ever seen. Everyone on pitwall was wincing every time he went into Old Hall and nobody could believe he was surviving a lap.

Apart from when sealeys fighting he looks quite boring too watch, but I guess that's what makes him fast tiny adjustments rather than massive lurches.

Marquez is probably one of the few riders who is dramatic to watch yet is still fast.
