I'm pretty sure you wouldn't of called lorenzo and simonchelli friends however lorenzo did the decent thing at the funeral and payed his respects.
This was my point. wink
Thanks.
Who didn't turn up? For those of us that weren't following that closely at the time.

If you remember a few races before the accident, lorenzo/pedrossa were moaning simonchelli was too recklesss then you had the famous press conference where simonchelli asks exactly what lorenzo's going to do about it ( you going to arrest me ? )

No sign of pedrossa at his funeral, however fair play to lorenzo realising some things are bigger than racing turning up and not taking over.

As I'm in a cynical mood tonight I could also argue that Lorenzo has a better PR team behind him.

Rubbish,

Lorenzo is never going to be as likeable as rossi, simonchelli, marquez, it's just not his personality, something his PR team will also acknowledge.

Would Prillers work to BSB rules then?

Should do, a couple ran in 2012. WSB was going to change to its own full EVO next year but they have relented on the electronics part (and a few other things), consequently there will be not be spec ECU mandated. There may be other differences but as far as I understand it, this will mean BSB and WSBK bikes will be more closely specified to each other next year. I wonder if BSB are thinking of adopting the WSB regulations themselves, and would that mean the Fireblade and GXSR become more competitive?

Hopefully, someone with better understanding will chime in.
No, they wont work.

The Aprilia is massively underpowered as standard, and the BSB rules on engine tuning make it a bike that simply wouldnt cut the mustard.

My Money would be on a pair of Ducati's, Birdy & Ducati have a good relationship and BSB need a big team to run them, Easton was magical on a ducati and has a two year deal, the rumour mill puts Laverty & Easton on one side of the garage and Shakey +1 on the Rapid Kawasaki side...

Do you know what Aprilia will do next year in WSB? Because, as I understand, the WSB rules are becoming stricter too (e.g. standard pistons and valves). Which BSB engine rules are the significant ones for the Aprilia as it stands now?
Isn't it more the fact birds pissed off with aprillia due to them not supporting his gp team this year like they say they would?

Any reason he wouldn't run bmw? Then he'd have something decent for the roads too.

He can't be that pissed off with them if he's prepared to take their money in exchange for his GP entry

He's not.

The 2 grid slots are being auctioned off on his behalf, he's not directly involved though.

Brad MAY have just got a 12 month extension.

Would love to know why he's thrown in the towel after 3 seasons. I'm not a fan of his at all, although without him BSB would be a duller place.

Why keep throwing good money after bad?

Combined with sponsors saying there not fussed with gp coverage, just bsb is fine as most of them are Brit companies.

I'm hoping he proves me wrong for the 5th or 6th season running! From what I've read he's lucked out big time as the few riders the team were after were Redbull aligned and wouldn't be able to ride for a Monster backed team.

I'd have rather seen an untested youngster like Lowes on it. Herve must be disappointed with how the season has gone.

We can assume Tech3 understand this decision better than anyone, especially as they have all the data. They must think there is chance he can turn the pace he displays in QP and 2nd half of the race in to more consistent race results. No doubt, he has benefited from some fortune with shuffling of other candidates, but that's the way the process goes. Teams/sponsors/factories combine to choose the riders they want, I suppose, or it becomes a question of sponsorship (Abraham?). Based on results, I can't see why Edwards has lasted so long. Same with Hayden, and even Aleix was pretty mediocre for his first few years. Apparently Edwards is getting a full-fat M1 for two races - but, will he be any closer to Rossi this time around. wink

People say the same thing each year about who /deserves/ what when it comes to seats, but it's only a sport, not an award for cancer-fighting kid of the year.
Completely agree mate, though I've always said I don't think he's up to the job (in terms of being an outright front-runner), there are people in the business much, much, much better placed and well informed than myself who MUST see something in the lad.

That said I do think the tide has turned, the rumour mill indicates that Herve has actively been seeking a replacement and it was only when he'd exhausted all other viable options that Smith was re-signed - well that's how I see it. Jules has also stopped praising him during commentary I've noticed - remember the first five rounds how he kept saying something along the lines of "Smith has said he needs to be the top satellite man in every session, every round to get a Factory bike in 2015"? At the time that took me aback and I thought maybe he's getting a massive bike upgrade or something, but.......

Hence why I think he's lucked out somewhat.

I've watched him through each category and have never been impressed despite the hype and I know I'm not the only one. Again though I hope I'm proved wrong I'd love to see a Brit going well.
