What about Dean Harrison. He is likely to be the top road racer for years to come. Will we see him on short circuits?
He was in my race earlier this year at Cadwell.

I beat him.

Although his bike did break down.

That pretty well makes my point.

Had his bike not broken down though he would have won, and probably lapped me!

Difficult to say with any certainty what they will do,if had asked brooks did he fancy the tt when he was in was he would probably have said fk off too.

You said they struggled, obviously my definition of struggling is different to yours,I am not struggling to understand anything

Apologies for any spelling mistake I am rolling about in the Irish Sea on my way to help a lad at the manx,he may get on the podium but I suppose unless he wins he is unsuccessful in his rating

I'll stick by my view that no more than one top level road racer will ever bother the podium at a top level short circuit race in the next decade. Here's one for you Michael Dunlop seems to be the dogs on roads, so when will a top level circuit team pick him up to ride for them? Will Milwaukee Yamaha do it as they seem to like to run in both disciplines. What about Dean Harrison. He is likely to be the top road racer for years to come. Will we see him on short circuits?

Will Dan Linfoot or Danny Buchan pop over and do the TT? I can tell you that Joe Burns comment was "Not in a million years, it scares the st out of me" he would do Macau though but they won't let him until he's tasted success at the the TT.

My point is that the current crop of new and established road racers will not succeed at short circuit racing today.
Much as I feel this is probably putting my head in the mouth of the lion, I actually agree with you.

When was the last time a winner at the TT was also a winner at short circuits in the same year? Plater? DJ? It's certainly been a while. Was McGuimness winning at the TT when he was winning at short circuits, or was it after he stopped winning short circuit races that he started winning the TT (yeah', I know that there are other road races than the TT, but the TT is usually the easiest example as it gets such a large entry list).

I think Brookes is probably the only rider around at the moment who could win both roads and short circuits at the same time.

So the whole redding factory ride looks very uncertain.

Gressini have until silverstone to confirm they are having the honda.

However go and fun aren't paying up (haven't paid dovi for helmet sponsorship either) so where will the money come from for next seasons campaign.

Some say gressini will run the factory aprillia's, some say they will just run 1 honda next year and there's talk of marc vds moving up to gp and taking the honda's.

Ducati have said they'd like redding riding for them so i guess a parmac seat would free up , trouble for redding is he wants a factory bike or nothing and his options are decreasing week by week.

Shuhei Nakamoto and Silvio Luppo like Scott, they have been in his pit garage a lot this year. Scott's personal manager (and Marc VDS team manager) Michael Bartolomy has been having meetings with Honda, Scott is still Marc van den Stratten's favourite son and Marc VDS racing are quitting Moto3 next year which frees up some personnel.

Bartholemy was talking to Carmelo Ezpeleta at Le Mans about running a MotoGP bike next year, it was initially a customer production Yamaha discussed, but with Scott having a factory Honda offered on his contract the deal with Honda could be done with Marc VDS running it.

A. there is no other factory honda alongside Cal, theres nothing at all yet, and if anything does appear it will be a proddy bike with miller on it.

B. If Gresini dont cough up, MVDS will have that bike like a shot.

Also, no one is taking the aprilias on apart from the noale boys themselves.

My thoughts exactly.

How often does the opportunity to run a factory Honda come up? Very, very rarely. I'd imagine VDS would seize their opportunity and take the bike for Gresini. This is provided they are prepared to stump up the £1.5m rumoured price tag of course.

Mr VDS is a multi multi Billionaire, fronting the cash to pay for the lease before Ian Wheeler does his usual remarkable job of dragging lots of sponsorship in would be easy.

Oh, I don't doubt for a second he could afford it, but multi billionaires don't usually become multi billionaires by throwing away millions here and there. I imagine that although he obviously has a huge passion for motorsport, he also runs his various teams as businesses to mitigate some of the expense.

There must be plenty of UK companies for whom a million or two is just a single percentage of marketing budget. We can't find one to partner with Marc VDS to back Redding on a Honda? How about Dyson, or JCB? (these were only brands I could think of that weren't biscuit/confectionary makers)
Where's the return for them though? Motorbike racing is a niche within a niche, why waste money in such a narrow area?

Rumours that both Lorenzo and Pedrosa will be dumping their crew chiefs at the end of the season. This is a big shift for Lorenzo as Forcada is viewed as one of the key reasons he won the title twice.

Josh Herrin (you know, the American guy who is running at the back of Moto2 when not crashing) has been sacked and will be replaced by Rattapak Williarot (and if that is the correct spelling it's a miracle) for the remaining 6 races.

Yeah, WSS this year, so he is doing the last 6 moto2 rounds and the last 3 WSS rounds. Busy guy.
