The bitterness on this thread is epic even by both PH and BB standards.

If it's so easy to make serious wedge doing one of the three things surmised to be the OP's trade, I look forward to reading about a lot more shiny garages containing hyper cars and hyper bikes from the naysayers on here. Although I imagine they'll just carry on b!tching and breaking their fingernails on their cheap fixer-upper snotters!
What if you break a nail fixing up your snotter that cost twice what a Desmo would? Would the Internet just fall over at the very idea hehe

But generally I think if you post a lifestyle that many aspire to then I don't think it's unreasonable that people ask how you manage it. Probably less to do with jealousy, more to do with aspiration (I'd hope!).

I am penniless compared to the OP but I understand where he's coming from on the insurance front!

I could make sacrifices and spend everything I earn out of university term time on bikes and insurance and insure a superbike, but I just cannot bring myself to spend more than £600/yr on insurance, so I have saved my (respectively) little money instead and insured something a little cheaper for a couple of years. Thats the only way I've been able to afford to buy my 675 while at university I think - my peers don't have anything half decent as they've been spending thousands on insuring crappy little hatchbacks since 17.

That barrier for me is preventing me from spending most of my savings on a half decent car at the moment. Although I can afford a decent BMW E46 330ci I just can't bring myself to make some sacrifices and spend £1200 on insurance the first year - although I could probably manage it financially... so I think i'll keep the bike exclusively for a little longer!

I very much doubt that any of your bikes fall into the snotter category! Definitely to be expected that people ask about the provenance of someone's fortune, but the green-eyed monster has been much in evidence in some quarters wink

I can't help but think you're still having a pop at me. Do you know much about my financial position? If not, maybe I'm not quite as envious as you'd think.

If your not envious of owning a McLaren and a 1199 tricolore then your either considerably well off or on the wrong forum. Damn right I'm envious of this guys garage. Doesn't mean I'm bitter towards him or anyone else that have these toys.
I haven't even seen any bitterness just a lot of people saying people are jealous.

I struggle to see how people earn their wealth has anything to do with a bike forum.

PHBB needs to stick to talking about bikes.

Quite right. It was me who asked how he earns his money, with no bitterness or jealousy intended.

Haha I can't believe what I've just read! Please do tell us about your financial position as you clearly want to...

Nope, no intention of it. Just intrigued that I should be dismissed as envious purely because I threw a suggestion out about why the OP was being so coy about his income source. There are many, many people who will be in a more comfortable position than me financially.

Have been properly under the pump over the last few weeks, but have come back to the thread to post a few photos.

Weather has been rubbish for Good Friday, so thought I'd shuffle around the garage after I was forced to go shopping with Mrs Duggan this morning.

...but I’m out on the Panigale tomorrow & can’t wait!! Weather should be cracking for the weekend!

+ will make sure I take a few photos over the weekend around & about and include a knotted jumper biggrin

Below are a few pics - If I'm honest I think the Ducati is a more beautiful thing than the Macca:
