CBTand buying a Desmo

Will you be painting the Desmo Orange when you get it?
Any particular reason for getting an Exige? For track days?
I almost bought an R300 in Orange last year.
Exiges are phenomenal things, I've done quite a few miles in them and always think it's as close to bike performance and feel I've found in a car that you can go shopping in too Any particular reason for getting an Exige? For track days?

Good work OP
Lovely car, I had a high power Elise for many years. The factory really got it right putting the V6 engine in that chassis, got to be the best car Lotus has turned out for many years
...I still prefer the roof off version though , but then if its destined for many track days, roof on is better

I think you'll find he's looking for a Desmo as opposed to a Honda with an engine that isn't even the same CC as the GP bike, makes it a frivolous irrelevance and at a ridiculous cost .....dibblecorse said:

Hence an RC213V-S might suit him.
But you knew all that before you posted didn't you?

And I did know all that before I posted, as being an arrogant twunt I know everything, thought you knew that .... just don't see the relevance of a pseudo GP bike that doesn't even replicate the CC's of the machine it claims to ape .. unlike the Desmo ...
Even with bottomless pockets of money the Honda is what 4x a Desmo .... and not as special or relevant in my eyes ... but feel free to tell me what I should think ...
Thanks for contributing, its been emotional ...

Even with half the outlay of the Honda can you imagine what you'd be able to do with a Desmo;
1. Proper engine rebuild with a rear wheel 200hp
2. Bespoke traction control,
3. Suitably sorted suspension,
4. 999R wheels to run decent tyres,
5. New bodywork with a decent race replica finish or full bare carbon,
6. Racefit exhaust system (Google 'Racefit Desmo Dreams' to hear it)
Etc etc
I'd have that over the RC most days of the week, and I'd have your 999R for the other days!

I agree with you on that - wanted a Desmo for a long while, watched them get down to early £30's and was all set for them to dip under that barrier and bang the few available now are all £35k+

Had a Xerox 999R back in the day - sold it before the arrival of a very early S1000RR. What a twunt. Would buy that one back in a heartbeat but it went to Portugal via Moto Rapido in 2009 never to be seen again.
If you ever run it out round Bedford or Cambridge way PM me and we can trade wheels for an hour or so.

I think Mrs Duggan would section me if I told her I was spending £140k on a bike I've just never been a fan of the Honda, despite what MM has managed to do on it in 2014 (and a few flashes of brilliance in 2015)
I did get Superbike mag on the weekend, mainly because they had an article on the H2 on the road - then they had a feature on this:
.....I spent a good 5 mins just looking at it - just fantastic! Must resist, must resist.....

Don't resist get it bought. I believe that MV Leicester may have one unsold.

If I didn't already have a WSBK wannabe on the firm then I'd be hugely tempted by this.
Just do it, life's too short !
