How does Guy make mutton chops seem cool? If I crew a set like that I'd look like a tool.

It was a nice Bimota parked up in his gaff. Was it a V Due?

Good programme indeed but you do wonder if it would have been easier/safer/more successful on tarmac. I got the impression that they needed the extra distance of Pendine to achieve what they did.

Is that right Rourkie?

something like the Mira high speed oval would of made more sense I would of thought, but I guess they looked at all other options before Pendine Sands?

I'd assumed it was the provenance that Pendine Sands has? Association with TT & Malcolm Campbell etc. and racing events. It's a perfect natural speedway. I thought it made perfect sense. Almost like an old romantic gesture. Which suits Guy in my opinion.

Also easier to make the program with chase vehicles & helicopter on a massive beach rather than shorter location. As said on the programe, Guy did over a mile @ 100 mph!

I'd assumed that too - not having to close roads etc. there appeared to be just a sign to warm the public of the record breaking attempt taking place. I liked that.

Really looking forward to the rest of this. He makes great TV. Very inspiring chap. I still want a house boat.

Sat down with Mrs Tack and stuck it on whilst she did Mrs Tack things.

Once she had finished, I changed channel and was told to stick it back on as she was enjoying it!

Well done Guy, not often she enjoys something i watch.

Look forward to next week.

Great program. Really impressed that he beat the record and just seeing a bloke on a bike top the ton was just nuts.

Made you think just how fast a proper cyclist like (sir) Chris Hoy could have gone.

Didn't they discuss this point and Laura Trott reckoned she wouldn't be able to do it nor would Sir Chris Hoy?

She also said that GM had no chance either...

I think the main factor here is it takes a certain lack of imagination

helps that he is not too bright and don't think about just how dangerous it really is.

You're judging the book by it's cover, sure he's eccentric but that doesn't mean he's dim.

Quite - he's certainly less risk-averse than most when it comes to putting his body on the line, but I'm sure he understands what he is doing and the possible consequences. I think he is really quite shrewd - sure he has never won a TT, though he has been close, but to have never won the big one and yet still made such a name for himself, signature replica gear, getting team rides while refusing to wear gear with his team logo on it, tv presenting etc, he's done well.

I enjoyed the program, though I'm more excited about the upcoming episode.

Only caught up with this yesterday (didn't watch any TV over Christmas).
Brilliant program, Guy is a great character.

Should be another fantastic series (His previous TV shows have all been very enjoyable).

Your right, he's not daft, he even said himself his attitude to risk would be different if he had kids.

It's amazing how the thought of the beautiful mini recreation makes you 'back off' at times
