if your worried about riding in the rain its obviously best not to book until the day and show up.
Saying that Ive booked well in advance, checked the forecast its came back as clear for the whole week, it gets to the day. Ive went to work and the sun has been splitting the sky's. 5pm looms and all of a sudden, thunderstorm.
You really cannot predict the weather at knockhill at all.
if it rains shortly before or during your two hour session your riding in the wet.
if it rains during the whole day session you can do what many do and wait for others to go out and dry the track up (when its a bit windy it drys in an hour easy).
of course it is scotland so i can rain all day.
try not to get too worried about riding in the rain and work yourself up about nothing. I was bricking it the first time I went out in the rain and enjoyed it loads. just stay smooth and stay off the kerbs

These might be worth a consider leighz, i went to one at the end of the year found it a pleasant experience, mostly.
The guys running were really welcome and friendly really made you feel at ease even though I never had a ducati, being a novice I was a bit nervous having only clocked up maybe 2 hours track time.
The carpark was full of trailers with 848’s, 1198’s, 748’s getting wheeled out, I got even more nervous when I was one of just a few that put their hand up as a novice. I thought I was going to get mullered going out on a 15 year old zx6r with super corsas in the pissing wet.
Everyone talking about setups or tracks they had ridden recently etc before in their own wee group.
I felt like going home to be honest.
Soon as you got out though the pace was fine, the novice section was piss slow within a lap id cleared the group and was even passing the guys “advanced” section and im fking pish!!!! No seriously Im fking pish! The guys in the wets did muller me though.
Some never even went out because it was raining, some only did a few laps.
A few did kinda look down on you though I felt, I had came in to setup a few things on the bike that were niggling me and was about to head out, you’d ask if the conditions were better or worse to some that just came in and they kinda blanked you. I don’t know if it was the orange bib stigma or if it was because i showed up on essentially a shed with tax and mot that I was riding home or if I just wasn’t part of the club. It was very un-bike, kinda like the car scene, you were judged on the price of your transport rather than your friendliness and ability.
But a lot were really nice, you’d share a few fags and a laugh. I suspect the BMW day me and prolapsed are going to will be like that.
Be worth booking up for that, good price for a open session

Tried to book the 12th, but it's full. I think all the guys who got fogged off last weekend got re booked onto this day. So I've booked the 30th. Novice only night will be spot on for my first ride in 7 months, £90 seems good value for 2 hours of open pit lane too.
fogged off?http://www.metcheck.com/UK/14days.asp?zipcode=Dunf...
should be good weather for it
heavy snow for the friday
