Took the fat Kwack for a spin out to the ace cafe and box hill -10 degrees out and most enjoyable. Actually managed to wind it up a bit on dry roads.

Only 300 miles in, but she's pretty comfortable. I managed to beat a corsa vxr thing on the M25 - so I must be doing something right......
A Corsa VXR? You must have been really giving it some lick, at least 40% throttle in top gear I'd bet! wink

I took the SRAD out for another spin this afternoon, after seeing some other bikes out at lunch time in the sun, though it was 16:30 by the time I got out so the light was fading fast. Still managed 30 or so miles with a few stops along the way to see my parents and then onto my brother's house. The roads were dry and free from the gravel and grit of yesterday, following the rain from last night clearing the roads. Brilliant, noisy, cold fun.

Changing the battery on the Monster is a right ball ache. Why couldn't it just be under the seat like a normal bike?

Lovely, engine and gearbox almost look like an expensive watch movement. You compare that to the new brough in the other thread and there is no comparison.

This morning the bloke down the road went out on his blade this morning, the guy who lives across from me his brother came round to see him on his R1. Thought to myself if its good enough for them its good enough for me. Finished cleaning my car and left hers st high and went for a ride biggrin

First ride of the year lovely day roads were all dry. Popped into J&S on the way home for a brew to warm my hands up ( only got summer gloves ) God ive missed riding, still got a smile on my face now.

Saw a lovely old AJS in cracking condition I was going to get a photo of but the guy had gone before I finished my brew mad

Bring on the warm weather cool

What are those tubes for, can I assume it's OHV so are they just for the pushrods?

+1. From the rubbish posted on BB (by all sides) in the last week or so, it cannot come soon enough for most!

It was nice around here today sun was out and not to cold. I was changing the brakes on my car yesterday n it was minging, what a difference a day makes. Loads of bikes out this morning I can hear them on the main road if the winds in the right direction.

It can rain n be as cold all it wants for the next month or so just give us nice dry weekends all summer I'm a happy chap.

Bet there is plenty of bike parking space and no queuing for your burger this time of year! wink
Any old gits with big beer bellies on Ducati 1098 or 1198s about today discussing how brilliant all weather all season tyres supercorsas are displaying with 6inch plus chicken strips? I suspect not.

Great looking bike OP but are the OE cans going anytime soon? I think I'd have had them changed before being brave enough to be seen on the public road wink
If you say by the first service then all is good! LOL
Cans are staying! I may spray them pink o they don't stand out too much.....

I've looked for aftermarket cans but there are none available yet for the 2014 model. The 2012 model is different apparently so I'm a bit knackered.....

Ironically they were built (in small numbers) for military trials. Deemed too delicate and expensive the MoD went with the sidevalve single M20 instead smile

Yep, they're the pushrod tubes. OHV v-twins were still pretty rare in the early/mid thirties and about as exotic as it came back then. BSA were amongst the first to enclose the pushrods, most OHV V-twin bikes were JAP engined which were still exposed 'rods. The exhaust valve is open on the BSA to aid cooling, where the inlet is enclosed smile

Had serious interest already, but it needs a serious cleanup after the winter weather before I can bear to let it go really...

I'm short of free time - and there are no bargain Daytona 675s to be found at the moment!

Managed to get out yesterday on the R1.

Lovely weather for it if a bit damp in places.

Jonjo, I've been pondering this notion for a day now, browsing 675s online... I can't find a decent low mileage keenly priced one though, plus:

A) I can't cancel my insurance policy, need the NCB!
B) I need a bike to replace it.

It won't be long Jonjo... I've got a D675 bee in my bonnet and it won't fk off wink - especially now I've found it can be restricted cheap, justifying the upgrade to myself thumbup
