A picture a day....biker banter (Vol 3)
Discussion
Mate bought a "home brew" electroplating kit a few weeks ago, we had a bash at plating a couple of items yesterday, took a while to understand all the destructions and set it up, looks like a proper bodge job and we made a couple of errors on the way but bloody hell, it only went and worked...going to take some him some time to make ongoing adjustments to it depending on the parts he's plating but with 10+ bikes to do, it should pay for itself easy enough.

Ive always wondered about this, is it much of a faff?I set up a plating test facility at a nickel factory a few years ago. Any help give me a shout I might be able to help. What you want to do that you might not be is keeping the mass transfer rate up by keeping it stirring constantly. Will give a even strong coating. I wasn't doing it to plate- purely to characterise the nickel anodes .

The real key is in the prep, you cant chuck a greasy/rusty part in and expect it to come out looking brand new but if you have the time and a large quantity of items to plate, its worth it, for just one bike, its probably easier to buy new or send your own away for plating.

Congrats...who is the rider?
The rider is Mahmoud Tannir from Lebanon. He has been racing for 7 years and has won the UAE Sportsbike Championship the last 2 years. I have been running his bike for the last 3 seasons.bass gt3 said:
Congrats, but weren't you previously running a 675?
Why the change? Lack of triumph support or just a good deal from Honda?
And if you've got any 675 chassis set up data, care to share???
Correct we still are running the 675 (same bike for the last 5 seasons with annual refreshes) until the Honda build is finished. The Triumph dealer didn't want to offer support this year and so we approached other dealers and Honda offered a good package with promising plans for next year. Why the change? Lack of triumph support or just a good deal from Honda?

I will dig out the current suspension settings when I am back with the bike weekend after this.
