I'm currently looking at bikes due to being bored of the BMW I bought after about a week. I'm currently drawn to one of these...

I had a 400 as a first bike after my test which is probably why I'm drawn to them. Would I be a complete idiot to actually buy one?
It'd match that jacket of yours and the owners club might be less likely to bum you than the BMW one.

A good friend has one of them, I love it. He does get a lot of pink bike stick but I love the retro feel. It's still plenty fast enough to hustle along aswell although the breaks do feel like their made of cheese.

Thats the latest model before the ZX7R as it has no hoover tubes.. I think the ZXR750 to go for is the J model, so 91/92.. although a little down on power due to 100bhp restriction, its certainly the coolest looking.. hoover tubes and USD front end

I believe they are a UK model but there's probably a lot of grey imports about too.

Describe a fast lap please BN'

Dunno about a fast lap but UI will try to describe my lap.

Onto the start finish straight I am already into 6th gear half way down the straight, just touch the Red/White markings on the right at the end of pit lane then peel left as the bike goes light at the front and stutters on the rev limit, look for the 200 mtr marker and pray to God your brakes are going to work for turn 1.

Turn into turn 1 late so that you can keep too the right for the left right turns 2 and 3.

Exit turn 2 in 3rd gear and rev the nackers off it hiting 4th for a brief second before dropping back to 3rd for turns 4 and 5.

Turn 6 is where things are starting to get fast again. short shift from 4th to 5th and hold your breath through turns 7 8 and 9 as it drops then rises then straighten out into hard breaking for turn 10. (start of the curb is a good breaking marker)

Turn 11 isn't much to write home about.

Turn 12 is best entered a bit late to get the drive onto a short straight before the chicane turn 13.

Turn 14 is entered in 5th before dropping to 2nd or 3rd running right out wide then squaring it off to outn drag people who have run in tight and passed you but can't then get on the gas due to being cranked right over, it also has a serious amount of camber....

.....onto the start finish straight again remembering to breath again.

Looks fun! I'm there in a fortnight or so. Must work out where my bike is and MoT it.
Its brilliant, the only thing that let it down for me was the 37 degree heat.

Looks good. Any footage from the GoPro I see strapped to the side? smile
Yes, I had it one for One session at the start of the second day then Aky put it on his bike to film me on the last session of the last day.

First time I have had the camera on since my accident.

I'm sure the Go Pro footage will be even better.

That's how hot it gets over here in summer and it can be a real headbanger.
Top tip however. Before you head out, pour a litre of water over yourself into your leathers. You need to be wearing under garments to make it really work however.
So once the under garments are properly wet,zip up and off you go. The hot air will eveaporate the water inside your suit cooling you down nicely.
Not so nice pouring the water in, but fook me it works. Also wet the inside of your helmet to keep your head cool. You'll be amazed how dry you are after a session. Use it, don't use it.

I forgot to pack my sweat suit so resorted to submerging my t shirt in cold water before going out, we were also getting in the hire car that had been running all day with the AC on.

I will do what you have suggested if I go again.

In a bike shop today chatting about this and that as a wrecked Tuono was wheeled in. "Swerved to avoid a deer" recovery bloke said. Just as we're think Yeah right we looked a bit closer.

Eta. Not massively clear on phone but should be okay on larger screen maybe: Fur wedged inbetween wheel and tyre.
