A-ha! Did wonder what that intermediate time (typically 2.5 to 2.9 seconds) was all about. Every day / school day and all that.
and the reason it's 64ft is because 'gravity' is ~32ft/sec so if you cover it in 2 seconds dead you have accelerated at 1G (averaged over 64ft...) I've seen some cars do it in around 1.6 something at Shelsley (Nic Mann's special, the Dialynx Audi Sport Quattro and I think Willem Toet's Judd v8 single seater) which is approaching 2G
It's great when you get a good launch but equally it's really easy to mess it up

Yep, I saw that one - fast as fook! That was the fastest thing I saw whilst there.
I think I'm right in saying its been clocked at 241mph and is road legal. I remember being on the back of one of his creations whilst he's wheeling down the road on an enormous swinging arm making the bike look terrifyingly high.
I don't think I've ever been on the back of a bike since. Lol.

You mean this one..? RG500 bottom end and Ariel 250cc heads and barrels.
I didnt see it when I got there(around 12ish) but I do now know the owner, Roy, quite well now, he's cracking on a bit in years but he tells me he's building another over the Winter..!
The owner of the cafe has a GT750, hence the large showing of them..and the staff all wearing GT750 T Shirts!
Worth the trip anyway eh.
Wonder how he realised the aerial barrels would fit?I didnt see it when I got there(around 12ish) but I do now know the owner, Roy, quite well now, he's cracking on a bit in years but he tells me he's building another over the Winter..!

Do you know what displacement it makes? Don't think it's 500

Today, I've been at work, drooling all over pics of these
I'd love a crack on one, but they look to be £10,000 a pop these days.
That particular era of TZR isnt worth anything like £10,000, im not sure any road going TZRs are that kind of money yet, even the exotic grey import SP examples.I'd love a crack on one, but they look to be £10,000 a pop these days.
If you fancy a project, I can put you in touch with a seller I know who has the extact same model as pictured running and roadworthy(ish) for under £1500.

I'm no expert in these things by any stretch - in fact, my knowledge of two strokes could probably do with a lot of buffing. I'm showing my age I expect! I only pulled a price out of the air based on what I saw after a quick look on ebay, there were a few around the 10K mark, admittedly minters. I'd love a 2 stroke sports bike for the garage, but the budget doesn't allow it yet. It's something I'd like to look at one day, but I know the old 2 strokes have a reputation for being a bit temperamental, I'm not amazing with the spanners, though I suppose I could always try harder to learn. If you fancy a project, I can put you in touch with a seller I know who has the extact same model as pictured running and roadworthy(ish) for under £1500.
