Well I didn't think I'd be out for a ride on Christmas Eve when I bought this back in January, but I've just been out for an hour or so... Just cooling down before she goes back in the house...

I got out for a blast too today, trying out my early Christmas present Knox handroid gloves. Really happy with them, although having the heated grips on probably helped somewhat.

I also have Knox Handroids for Christmas - although mine are under the tree wrapped, because even though I was there when the OH bought them, she's trying to make out she hasn't actually got them!!

Hmm, might have to start looking at insurance costs for these, might be an option for a summer weekend bike...

Edit: 2006 R1, £674 a year fully comp (£550 excess) - 4000 miles inc. commuting, licence not held for a year, 1 year NCD, garaged eekidea

It will come down loads after you had your licence a year. Mine dropped not far off half the price that it cost in year one.

Looks great.

Does the front brake line just hang loose like that?
it does, they don't rub against anything, I may re fit the standard brake lines with the fittings, the Goodrich lines have been on the bike like that for the past 7 seasons on track.

I still have the standard brake lines and all the fittings so I may go down that route together with a standard pitch chain and sprockets.
That bike looks amazing after 7 seasons on the track, is there any evidence of track abuse. You are obviously being open about its history, i presume you will be open about this when you sell it?

Empty roads today - a bit parky, but skipped the booze at lunchtime and went for a thrash.

Was a brilliant day to go for a hoon! Roads were empty.

I was surprised at how reasonable the price was tbh, £700 for an R1 when I was getting quoted £1500 for a triumph 675 as a main bike with 0 ncd (10k miles, parked on driveway).
