Hello there, was looking at your bike earlier on your mod thread on the ST forum!

What tail tidy is that? I'm waiting for the D3 bloke to get round to knocking one out but am getting a little impatient.

Also looking at new mirrors - but unlike you I quite like the look of the original "antennae" style so am looking at a french company that produces similar style, but in lovely machined metals and with hugely improved vision.
It's the EvoTech tail tidy, it's a bit pricey but it's a really well made tail tidy and they were in stock unlike most of the other ones i liked!!

I'm not 100% on the mirrors but i just couldn't get the original ones in a position i was comfortable with so thought i'd give these a go. Just need some clean dry roads now!!

After finally getting fed up of the spectacularly shonky brakes on the 'busa I've decided to get them sorted once and for all.

Aye, that'll do it.

Out of interest, how bad are the brakes on a Hayabusa? I'd read they were poor out of the showroom until very recently, as I think they come with a Brembo setup now. On the older models, were they just too weak for the weight / power of the bike?

I'm on a Gen 1 Hayabusa and they are pretty terrible. To be fair to them they do stop the bike, but you need to give the lever a big pull to get them to do much. They don't feel particularly sharp and do have the tendency to make it feel like you are not going to stop in time. I suspect my bike is worse than most as I don't think the previous owner looked after the brakes particularly well, but the general consensus is that for a bike with so much go it is pretty daft that it lacks so much stop.

Pads and discs were on their way out, so needed changed but everything I've read suggests that the single best upgrade you can do is to change the master cylinder for a Brembo unit. Never something I've done on any of my bikes so I'm really curious to see how much of an impact it has. Hopefully that sinking feeling of panic when you don't think you're going to stop in time will be a thing of the past.

Something a little cheaper than the Pani above...

My new bike. Picked it up yesterday morning at 9:30am, the 1.5 hour ride to get there was seriously cold.

A 2001 CB400 Super Four VTEC.

New gloves too, a pair of Held Race Tex Gore-tex for £131 biggrin

What ratio is it? There's a 19x20 brembo radial on my track Mille, I'm itching to try it, it's like a on off switch!

It's a 19 RCS so it has an adjustable ratio from 18 to 20. Pretty trick bit of kit.

If it's anything like the difference when I put the accossato m/c on my Thunderace then you'll really notice it.

If you don't notice the difference then a monkey has fitted the parts or you shouldn't be riding a bike.
