A picture a day....biker banter (Vol 3)
Discussion
Some more quality time with the YamaGamma today..
My mate had fabricated upper rad mounts, all fitted and looking posh...that rad is going nowhere.
Along with another bracket, some foam from some packaging did the job supporting the oil tank in place...It holds approx 500mls so ill get the range out of it I need for most trips out.
Perfect fit under the hump..
After bleeding the oil lines through and tidying up some other areas, fitted the tank (hardest job of the day!)..
Sat there looking at it for a few minutes , my mate suggested I take it for a spin for a shakedown, even though the frost was forming on the car windscreen by then, it didnt take much persuasion, so I whazzed it up and down the road for a bit, it felt bloody good I have to say, next time out , ill take it for a proper ride out but so far, so very good..Been a great day.

I love that thing! Unfortunately it is for sale as I have got some issues with my knees and the kick start is not doing them any favours

Depends on who "they" are Compared to a modern wheel, like a forged Ali Marchesini on modern Ducs, there's very little in it. The mass is slightly more centralised with the CF wheel which is more critical than the outright weight but you're spending big $$ for marginal gains. Compared to wheels from bikes older than 5 years ago however, it's like night and day.
On the old Duc I was 2 seconds a lap quicker at Kyalami just with the carbon wheels, back to back. The inertia or lack of is incredible, making acceleration, braking, suspension operation and cornering massively better.
Can't speak for other bikes especially Jap but I would think their wheels are pretty hefty to keep costs down.

that's the thing , did some 'rough' numbers the other day , £10K to change !
F**K THAT !
not even seen one in the flesh yet .
for the same price I could get an MT09 and some BSTs for the R1 .
5k for yours isn't to bad at a dealers.sell it private and sell the bits off it then you'll only have 8.5k to find,F**K THAT !

current thinking is keep the one I've got ( £5K is top book for something with WAY less miles than I've got on mine ! )Biker's Nemesis said:

'Blade ?I'd rather suck the hairspray out of Donald Trump's comb-over than have a 'Blade !

All the cars are broken so had to pull the Enfield out of hibernation for work tomorrow. Fresh fuel and she fired straight up after a few months off the road.
Going to be cold at 5:30am tomorrow
I have an ex-field bike RE Bullet "Works Replica" trials bike somewhere at the back of the garage. If it proves too difficult to register (no log book), I may have to buy an Indian version and so some judicious mixing and matching. Going to be cold at 5:30am tomorrow
