Obviously in UAE you are never going to see an advert that bike has not seen rain. Perhaps it should be bike has not seen sand?

Has been nearly 6 months since I last rode a bike, and the itch is getting strong now. Only so long that V8's can keep the blood flowing! However this is the standard of advert I am looking at.....

Whats the a\f ratio doing, how did that look ?

I wouldn't even test ride a 2011 because I thought they were a gutless heap of s**t.
Guess not.

Why would you consider any modern 1000cc bike to be gutless?

Thing is, if your not racing, it still is THE 1000cc to have on the road as long as you dont want to talk BS down the pub about having the TC kicking in, sideways at 160 riding round the outside of johnny bravo.

More midrange, best handling, lightest.

Do you have all the details that are normally on the print out. Like humidity, ambient temps, correction factor and I assume that the number shown [cant read it as its blurred] is crankshaft horsepower but measured via the rear wheel ?

I would have expected a standard Blad to be in the region of 155 BHP and 75lb ft if it was actual horsepower at the rear tyre and last months Fast Bike actually dyno'd a 2014 Blade at 152 ?

All I've done is disabled the exhaust flap and installed power commander.

So not standard then!

Yep ... Just not bothered posting every graph up ... Got a few of them showing part throttle and steady state setup ...

It's all numbers mate ... I've used FW Developments ... They know what they are doing as tune these bikes for race teams all the time.

They certainly know what they are doing compared to fast bikes magazine!

You are of course correct that it's all just numbers.

I looked out my original Dec 2009 group test from Performance Bikes. I have this as I own 2 of the bikes tested. They ran them all on the dyno as they were given them. Sadly and unusually the GSX-R crapped it's pants so no numbers for it.

GSX 1300 Busa was 176.6 BHP and 104.5 lb-ft. Top speed 184.96 mph. 0-100 6.60 secs

F4 312RR MV was 169 BHP and 83 lb-ft. Top speed 185.56 mph. 0-100 6.52 secs

ZZR 1400 was 166.2 BHP and 105.11 lb-ft. Top speed 187.04 mph. 0-100 6.46 secs

Fireblade was 165.9 BHP and 79.5 lb-ft. Top speed 181.51 mph. 0-100 6.64 secs

ZX10R was 165 BHP and 77.6 lb-ft. Top speed 183.90 mph. 0-100 5.94 secs

R1 Big Bang was 161 BHP and 79 lb-ft. Top speed 183.20 mph. 0-100 6.31 secs

KTM RC8R was 158.89 BHP and 86.62 lb-ft. Top speed 179.56 mph. 0-100 6.14 secs

Aprilia RSV-4 was 155.88 BHP and 75.01 lb-ft. Top speed 184 mph. 0-100 6.74 secs

Ducati 1198 was 155 BHP and 91 lb-ft. Top speed 178.37 mph. 0-100 6.16 secs

All tested on the same day for the speeds etc and on the same day and dyno for the numbers all using the same fuel etc so a good honest comparison in my view. What was surprising was the top speed of the RSV4 when it has much less BHP or Torque than most so it must have good aero.

None of them can be classed as slow as even the slowest was just over 178 mph out the crate !

At almost 166 BHP std this has made me look at Blades in a whole new light.

All the dyno runs I've seen for RSV4's seem to come in around 165, which would correlate with the tested top speed they achieved.
Mine is massively re geared (-1 +3) and it still lives top speed with my mates 2102Blade on -1, as tested this Sunday to the naughty side of 170mph wink
And yes, the 4 has very good aero as well as a ridonkulous 1st gear in standard form.
1198's also seem to achieve 162+ on the rollers and my 09 HRC Blademade 168 on the same dyno as my other bikes run on. Blades might not have the screaming top end of the ZX/S1kbut they are far from being a slouch.
