Found an old picture of me on my first Duke in 2001 @ Assen.

Ducati 996 SPS, awesome bike. Cannot believe its almost 14 years old now. Broke down a few times but who cares when it looked so good.

Almost getting there with my garage. I managed to get all sides painted so I just need to sort out some floor paint. Has anyone got any suggestions where to get some from that's cheapish.
Wilkinsons has some grey floor paint for 25 quid a tub but not sure if one will be enough.

Just got to fill a couple more gaps and sort the worktops out and it's ready for the track bikes arrival.

Also my view from work in 2013 on the right and just before winter 2014 on the left.

Are you sure they're 2015 models? Get a photo of the front if you can.

One of the lads who races Nationals works at the dealer where the bikes were taken to. He sent the pic to a good friend when they came in this morning. None of them has more than 500kms on the clock apparently
2015's went on sale a week or 2 ago and one was offered to a mate who races(he took the zx10). I also saw one out and about weekend before last on a brekky run. I'm guessing the exhaust can is the giveaway, with 2 outlets and a Y inlet pipe???
They're not in great demand as it seems the new R1 is sold out for the next 3 shipments.

Sorry, by 2 outlets I means there's 2 holes in the end of the single can, which has a Y type connection?
I only saw it briefly as it left the Wimpy
And looking at the above picture, I think the round light is on the left, meaning the long light is on the right. Is this correct for a 2015??

Red with white plastic sections is a 2015 colour option as well. Ouch

Same colour scheme as BvG's latest video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97grnGQfQrY definitely a 2015 model year.

edit: also probably identifiable by the plastic cap on top of the forks which would indicates electronic suspensions on a non HP4 model nerd

Confused. How did 4 crash at the same time, same place, and bought together?

Someone bought himself and 3 mates one each for a trackday???

You're all correct and I'm an unobservant prat. Apologies all round.

Just surprised as when I was in getting one of mine looked at, the dealer couldn't offer me a test ride on one of the bikes in the workshop until this month due to BMW restrictions on sale and launch dates.

4 lads/mates all bought identical bikes. Apparently none of them had been near a bike in their lives. Why or whatever we'll never know I guess
So out on a brekky run, something went awry and all 4 managed to collide or spear off into the scenery at the same corner/location. Upshot is 1 of the riders died and 4 wrecked bikes. Sad state of affairs

How can this happen, I know its 'sales' for BMW but that is like a death sentence and shouldn't be allowed to happen, especially with the current state of the roads.

terrible news

I lived there from June 1975 to Nov 1989 and on a bike with a Learners Licence you can ride any capacity from the get go. Way back then to get a learners was more difficult as it was a 1 on 1 with an Afrikaans speaking examiner and me a fresh off the boat immigrant.

You cannot drive a car or a truck on a learners without being accompanied by a full licence holder but you can ride a bike. You may also renew the learners, or could when I lived there and not need to take the test for a few years. I only took mine in 1980 finally on a Z440 LTD of all things.

However my first bike in early 1977 after a huge RTA in Dec 1975 as a passenger was a KE175 used off road mainly just to get my feel back after 17 fractures etc. Then I promptly went out and got a Z1000 A2 in mid 1977 as a 19 yr old. I am still here but many are not.

It's the system sadly and now more of the population has disposable income and wants aspirational recreational purchases. The poor dealer wants the deal and if he refuses someone else will supply.

So it is a systemic failing not a commercial one.
